Player Discussion Marco Rossi

I haven't heard "woe is me" from Rossi, just from some posters who support Rossi. His demotion lately is due to his current level of play, and I haven't seen him sulk publicly about it. I wouldn't expect to, either; Rossi has always been the player who takes adversity as a learning experience and then attacks it in the off-season.
That's why I used the precursor "IF"

He's playing hurt. Hartman deserved to move up the lineup. We're hamstrung by not having anybody that can move to the middle, so Hartman has to play center. Leaves either Rossi or Gaudreau as the one to move down, and if Gaudreau is healthier, then it makes sense.

Bad contract offer though.

You can never convince me that Rossi is whining about his situation and wants to get more undeserved TOI.
I'm pretty sure he's aware of what he needs to do and takes full responsibilty to change things around by putting in the work.
He's a good kid with a big heart and strong head.

Could always try it, but unlike Granlund, Rossi has always been a C. There would be an adjustment period for him to play on the wing, and I don't know that during the playoffs, when every game is critical, is the time to try it. It's not like we have a slew of C's that we can use.

It's nice that Hartman finally decided to show up... in April.
Agreed, but I also think the Wild shouldn't trade him without finding out if he can be a legitimate top 6 winger. Tough spot.

Boldy too in reference to previous playoff performances!

I've heard some speculation from Denny on Locked On Wild that he is pouting because Guerin doesn't want him... But that never really seemed like Rossi and I don't believe that for a second.

Rossi has 2 points tonight. In honor of that, I propose we have an armistice on discussing his long term future with the Wild until the end of the playoffs. Or at least he does something noticabley terrible in a game or 2.

Not gonna lie, that poster being obnoxious all the time makes it really hard to root for Rossi.
Not gonna lie, you shouldn't ever root for Rossi again after all that shit and negativity you and a few others have spread onto this board against him.

It's one thing to criticize a player. But it's a whole different level doing that in serveral different threads on this high number of posts ignoring all aspects that might be positive about him.

You're taking this way too personally. And I say that as a Rossi fan.

Armistice

Rossi is obviously a perfect little angel that never f***s up and the whole organization is just out to get him. That’s obviously it, cause there are no holes in his game :sarcasm:

At least I can stop when someone writes "armistice" while you continue to troll araound.

Have a nice day, sir.

@Dr Jan Itor and I said before the playoffs that if he scored 2 points in this series playing with this bottom six, it would be *fine*, so now that he has 2 points in 3 games, I'm hoping he gets to 4.

Please do not throw me into the same pool of obnoxious fanboyism...that's just cringeworthy.

Rossi played well tonight and the 4th line got rewarded for it immediately with more icetime. He picked up his game and found some energy. His goal was kinda funny...he had almost the exact same chance in game 1 on a feed from Kaprizov and shot it wide. Good confidence boost for sure, bad penalty at the end even if the call was soft. Let's see if Hynes switches anything up but I doubt it and honestly why should he. Nothing better than to have a rather balanced attack with a superstar line adding additional oomph. I expect Rossi on the 4th line next game and I am totally fine with that.

I don’t, you’re good. That poster has been bothersome to me since November when they incessantly complained that the team/Hynes hated Rossi because he didn’t play with Kaprizov enough. At the time of the complaining, 75-80% of Rossi’s 5v5 time was with Kaprizov. It just rubs me the wrong way when people make up narratives because they are upset their favorite player isn’t spending 100% of their TOI with the current superstar on the team.

I agree, Rossi was really good tonight. His penalty was a Vegas flop; ticky tacky at best. I would keep Rossi and Trenin together and make the other wing Ohgren. Solid 2-way line. If they ever go 11-7, they could double shift Kap or Bold in that spot.
