Definitely not. He should be better down the line, but Marchenko is the significantly better two way player.
Agree to disagree.

Put Michkov on pretty much any other team with any other coach and he was running away with the Calder scoring 85+ points this year.

Marchenko is very underrated and the better 2way player but they're not in the same class of IQ, vision. Talent, pedigree.

Michkov is a guarantee top 10 player in the league within the next two years.

Since Torts got fired all of his numbers are off the charts. Advanced metrics even more so than real stats, well over PPG+ expected. You're good with the numbers you can post the side by sides with and without Torts

Marchenko size/speed/skill combo is fantastic.

Michkov elite vision/IQ, fantastic scoring and playmaking.

I think Michkov has more of a ceiling, but Marchenko's package is fantastic and could see him pushing 100pts in his best year.

At what point does pedigree mean nothing when the guy is just straight up doing it in the NHL now? There could not be any less of an argument for Michkov over Marchenko today, he's better on both ends of the ice right now and even did it with a shattered jaw for awhile. If you want to argue future, by all means but if a playoff team could take 1 of those 2 today to join them for a Cup run I don't think Michkov would be the choice

85pts wouldnt run away with Calder if dman has 70pts.

I think the thing that separates them, is Marchenko would need a playoff caliber team to start putting up 100pt seasons. Whereas Michkov will likely do it at some point, even if he's on a bad team. But watching Marchenko all year, and seeing the good teammate he is, the 2way play that makes teams successful....The Michkov and Bedards of the world will get a big no from me.
