It was the upper body contact that made Brassard fall, though. Marchand's skate hardly touched Brassard after he was already falling.

seems like they got this one right.

I just wish they would get this stuff right on a more consistant basis.

Me too.Hate to whine and moan but saw Subban do it 4 or 5 times and nothing.Depends who you are and play for it seems or how many other teams fans or announcers speaks out.But ok fine .Bruins rep as tough seems to always allow other teams to get free shots at them.

Really, guy?!!??

I didn't see the intent either.

I have seen plays where you can tell Marchand was definitely trying to "get" the guy. Last night's play they were shoulder to shoulder battling the puck and Marchand got his shoulder in front of Brassard's. There was slight contact on the back of the leg, but it looked like Brassard had already started to fall. Also there was not the usual "pitchfork" associated with a slewfoot.

I thought it was borderline.

Also, two wrongs don't make a right, but why wasn't Subban's slew foot in the CLS game the other night reviewed by the league? They showed it on NHL on the Fly, he was given a tripping penalty, and I didn't find it until just now. Not the best video, but check out 1:10 in.

Do a little bit of quick research on PK. This is up to three years ago (Jan 2012):

I didn't think the Staal injury was a slew foot, but the other two were.

3) PK on Dubinsky (and also different angles of the Neal and Kunitz slew foots:

4) On Elias:

I am sure there are more. When is PK's hearing?

Minor penalty=2 game suspension.

No matter who they put in that position, they'll never figure it out.

2 refs on ice never even called a penalty. Now Kreider goes fo box and what he did caused a fight yet not even a hearing.NHL is so biased not funny.

I know they didn't call it, but even they would have it would only have been a minor penalty for tripping. But he gets a suspension for it.

People are so obssesed over suspension and this type of crap it's embarrassing. I have to laugh that people think that warrants 2 games, what are those opinions even based on?

He got 2 games but Kreider not so much as fineSo kick a guys feet your cooked but drive a Bruin head first to boards ok.pffft

Not to mention that Kreider has boarded two guys this season (and last):

This doesn't take into account his penchant for running goalies either.

Not trying to absolve Marchand of any of his past transgressions, but why is he on the radar and guys like Kreider (and Subban) are not?

The league needs to be much more consistent with their efforts.

First dirty play of the year for Marchy and people freak out and condemn him. I like it, and it wasn't as bad as the boarding later on.
