Maybe if the Sabres had a few " Marchand " type players on the team then they might actually make the Playoffs more than once every 15 seasons.
ouch! My feelings!...anyways look at you floor you're just as interesting as this HOT take....

He likely gets in, may not be 1st ballot though.

If it was my HHOF, he wouldn't be there. Was never a Top 10 player in the league for me personally and he never won any major individual accolades. That being said, there's plenty of players who don't have those and have made the HHOF. He'll be there for his style of play, Team Success, International Success and Longevity (likely hits 1000pts).

He has multiple seasons of finishing top-10 in both Hart + Selke Trophy voting results, to say he was never a top 10 player in the league is kind of nuts honestly.

I said he wasn’t in my personal top 10 ever. Just because you finish Top 10 in Selke voting does not make you a better lockdown guy than Bergeron or Barkov. Just because you finish top 10 in Hart voting does not make you a more valuable player than McDavid, Crosby, Ovi or Kucherov.

During the time-period of his 5-year peak 2017-2022, He simply does not have an arguement against Crosby, McDavid, Drai,, Kucherov, Vasi or Hedman. I would argue MacKinnon won a Cup in that timeframe and his highs were better than Marchand’s during those times. Patrick Kane is just a more skilled and better hockey player than him. I don’t think you’ll find a single person that will take Marchand over Kane.

If you notice all the guys that are mentioned are HALL OF FAME LOCKS. You will find no one that disagrees with those players. I’d maybe have Marchand after those guys during his peak, although I still think I would have had Bergeron or Barkov over him. These were also the years where Matthews was starting to become the best regular season goal-scorer.

Again, he’s RIGHT there. I don’t think anyone could argue he’s NOT top 15. He played extremely well, but that’s also because he played with Bergeron and Pasta. Crosby, Ovi, Kane, Drai and McDavid had worse linemates from 2017-2022.

I think everyone just gets tainted by his style of play and his peak years. Which were PHENOMENAL. He’s making the hall. I think we can both agree on that. I don’t think it’s out of this world to say he was never a top 10 player in the league.

next time you think you are funny on here....just look at your own floor....you'll understand how interesting your insult was to me when you just stare at your own floor. Hope this helps, best wishes.
It really doesn't but maybe " look at your own floor " is some sort of Rochester saying because I've honestly never heard of it before. All I see when I look at my floor is that I really need to get my spin mop out of the closet.

It's not a Rochester thing but "Boston Bob" not being able to understand the concept of his opinion/comments being bland is not that hard to imagine. Somewhere Matt Damon wants to know if you like apples..spin mops are legit btw....

Wow - somebody here is taking things a bit too seriously.

I would say yes but it’s not a slam dunk. Individual stats and hardware leave a lot to be desired. But he’s one of the most iconic and unique players from his generation and I think he’s achieved legendary status as a two-way pest. I’ve really enjoyed his arc over the last year, I’m finding him really hard to root against these days.

He was a top 10 player in 2017, 2018 (top 5), 2019 (top 7) 2020 (top 10ish) and 2021 (top 7)

He fell off though earlier than expected in 2022, which cost him a shot at 1st ballot HHOF

Marchand is a very good hall-of-famer.

A top player offensively and defensively, played great against tough opposition, really good on Team Canada (in 2016), and always clutch.

There's nothing not to love about him. He's a legend.
