At least woodcock knows what to work on. He recognized that the pp was absolute shite for some time.

7 is the max amount of losses we can have for the rest of the season. The moment we hit 8, we are pretty much eliminated.

Yep, pretty much this. No room for error now. Just based on the "on pace for" numbers, it looks like they'll need high 90's just to secure a wildcard spot. Before last night, I figured 17-8-1 is what they needed to go to hit 99 points as Vegas and Nashville are on pace for 98. They need to go on a tear but with the injuries and shit special teams, they're just as likely to go 8-17-1.

Vegas and Nashville are both on pace for 96 right now, so 97 points would be a safe bet to get in. 25 games left 33 points needed, 16-8-1 is bare minimum. So once we hit that 7th loss our chances of making it in is near zero. 8 losses gives us a chance as long as we don't also have more than 1 OT loss. 9 losses means we are 100% at the mercy of other teams failing.

McDavid 5 point night incoming.
Buddy can barely even score a 3 pointer this year...not to mention 5 pointer. Since January 1st McDavid has had 1 game of 3 points or more and 12 0 point games.

And? :naughty:

The top PP unit is Kane-Draisaitl-Yamamoto-McDavid-Bouchard.

Any idea what the setup is? I wonder if its time to go back to the 2016-17 unit and put a right-hand shot on the left-half wall. Yamamoto in place of Letestu?

I'm at the point where I'm ready to split up McDrai on the PP and run two units for 1 minute each.

At this point we need to try something extreme and the two of them together has the entire rest of the team standing around and watching and hoping they score. They also only have one good shift before they're gassed and our second unit is nothing to be afraid of, so the pkers know they only need to survive for a shift or two in their own zone. Mcdavid and Drai each qbing their own PP is similar to having them run their own lines at 5v5. Can be put together when necessary, but keeps them fresh and gives us two dangerous units the majority of the time.

Once we get RNH and JP back, I'd like to see:

Kane Drai Mcleod
Nurse Bouchard

JP Mcdavid Hyman
Nuge Barrie

Check that. Has only one 3 point game since December 1st. 2 power play goals in 35 games.

Islands in the stream.
Can these guys win games and stay healthy enough until Nuge and the Bison King comes back? :help:
Will Nugey even come back this month? Every time he gets injured the prognosis for recovery is shorter than it actually takes him to get back in action.

heres an interesting time line. He got Covid before Xmas, was unavailable for a couple weeks. Returned for ONLY two games. Got injured on a routine check on the boards. he didn't even play all of the 2nd game back. Then longer than expected until he's back, misses another month, plays 15 games, gets injured again on a routine check along the boards and here we sit. RNH out injured again.

Nuge has played only 17 games since December 16, 2021. On the first year of his geriatric contract. This is going to end well.. in 3mths of hockey season we will have gotten 17 games out of him. sigh.

When Nugey gets back? is starting to get old already. Whats it going to look like as the contract continues? Could you imagine Nuge even being in the game last night getting run through the boards by Lucic?

My first pre-game thread as I will this team back into the playoffs.

lol they're totally lying about Smith not being hurt to be able to save face for continually letting him get starts. He was hurt last game and gave up the 4th goal because of it, but they won't admit it.

Stomach flu my ass.

Who knows.. they could be out of the playoff race by the time Nuge and the Bison King comes back. Nuge's time frame was 3-4 weeks. Will he even show up this month? I wouldn't know the answer to that or the severity of the injury. The speculation was that he had a separated shoulder. So stay tuned.

Maybe the team could hold the fort until then. Or maybe not.

They're out of it now. Maybe they'll win this game to create false hope, but they're likely done.

They're not going to be able to outplay 3 out of these 5 teams ... Vegas, LA, Vancouver, Nashville, Dallas down the stretch, not with Koskinen as their starter.

He we will choke and crack if he has to play a bunch of games without a ton of rest in between, we all know it.
