Hopefully us. Hello Brett."There is a vocal online contingent of fans who malign Staal, and they point to his possession stats as evidence. His Corsi-For percentage at five-on-five — meaning the percentage of shot attempts for his team that occur while he’s on the ice — is 44.44. As a team, the Rangers went into league play on Tuesday night ranked 29th in the league at 45.65."
I wonder to whom Brett might be referencing here????

He still sucks.
Hes been less sucky lately, but he's a zero in transitional hockey and a horrendous PK'er.
Buy him out this off season plz.
Yea let’s buy him out for cap space we don’t need. And future dead cap space later that we may need.
Look at our team.Look at our cap sheet, we’ll be fine.
Plus, the deadcap space will hamper the team for a number of years. When the team is ready to contend or at least take meaningful steps forward (hopefully), they would still be getting him by Girardi's & Stall's contracts.Look at our team.
We don’t need to buy him out just so you can change ur name to “buyoutvesey”

I think its possible someone would be willing to take on Staal for 2 years at 2.75m after this season is done with us eating the other half.
If Staal was a free agent I could see a team giving him a deal similar to what Girardi received (2 yrs, 3m per). This is of course assuming he is not a noticeable disaster the rest of the season or gets seriously injured.
That would be best case for the Rangers.
Plus people tend to forget that they were a legit top-pairing defensemen in the league. To borrow a phrase from Brooks, they were Bluebloods. Not that the huge contracts aren't wrong.
No one is close enough to consider a buyout right now. Not even remotely. We've got guys on LD who are pretty close.
He takes up a spot.
Theres no point in holding onto him.
I was so pissed when we let Yandle go all because AV didn't know what to do with him.Stralman AND Yandle.
Granted both contracts were signed Pre-Yandle, but yeah.
Smack yourself in the f***ing face, go outside, stare at a birds nest, strip down, jump in an ice pond, get out and then slap yourself in the f***ing face again to the tune of the following sentenceLook at our cap sheet, we’ll be fine.

You. Do not. Piss. A. Way. Needed. Cap Space. We need. Later!
FUUUUUUUUUUUU.I just did all of that.
They should still buy him out.
