Pacioretty's contract is pretty slim and he did not sign Weber to his contract.

I know that.... He did not meet Andrighetto or Pateryn.....

But they are the ones with letters on sweater or are identified as leaders (like Price)

If you consider Bob Mackenzie a part of the media then your statement is completely false. He said yesterday that if it was up to him he would play the hell out of Galchenyuk.

Since when McKenzie is a NHL coach ? What does he know about Galchy's injury, physical shape, involvement in the defensive zone, face offs skills ?.....

I'm talking about the local media who apparently are questioning whether or not he can be a number one centre. And this comes after he was a top five scorer before coming back from injury.

Some are starting to suggest he'd be better off the wing...

As for Mackenzie, I agree completely. We should just play the hell out of him and our top offensive players. That's what most teams do when they go into scoring slumps. Instead we promote David freaking Desharnais...

This could mean a lot of things, like I said I really don't see him firing Therrien

Asking about other players in the room
Asking about how would they feel with an extension to Radu
Asking about players around the league they might have played with (like Weber and Price regarding Duchene)

I dunno about the last 2 on your list. I'm sure Rad's financial future is between him and the management. It'd be in poor taste to discuss dollar figures and contracts with teammates. For the 3rd, it seems odd to have a private meeting for something like that no? Could just take a player aside any time and get some input. And why would Patches be there?

The only 2 possibilities for this are A) Regarding a player in room who's causing conflict or possibly being moved or B) Regarding the coaching staff.

Needless to say, this excites me as either way we need a change in both areas. The team is not a contender as is. So for now...

What if he met with his leaders to ask them if they would be comfortable finishing the season with Muller as the interim head coach... One can only dream I guess.

We were not in the meeting and we can all speculate. I personally think that Bergevin called them in and told them that they are the leaders of this team and expects more from them. Bergevin will do just about anything to protect Therrien, therefore Therrien is not going anywhere, anytime soon. They will both go down together, whenever that happens.

Don't get your hopes high that MT is on the way out, could be just trying to get a pulse from the players on a bunch of things.

LOL so true...
I get more knowledge from these boards.

Rds and Tva are just covering the basic, they dont have much inside info. All they do is ***** about every russian player as soon as they can like Galchenyuk, and boost a guy like DD even tho he end the game 0pts and -3 only because he's from Quebec/Canada. And they never miss a chance to boost Therrien, but never blame him and always protect him when things arent going our way.

From all of this Drama, there's 2 thing that might happen : A trade, coaching staff changes.

I'm interpreting this in one of 2 possible ways:

1) MB is laying it into his team leaders, saying that the way the team has been playing recently is unacceptable and that things need to change if they want to be competitive in the playoffs (or even make it for that matter). Then MB did the same with MT, saying how he need to find a way to get more out of his players for the same reasons as mentioned.

2) MB is asking his leadership group how they feel about a potential coaching change, whether its Muller taking over for the season, or adding someone like Claude Julien. MB then proceeds to tell MT that he has until the bye week to get some wins, or he'll be packing.

Most likely just getting a good feel of how his 'core' feels atm, plus pep talk.

I highly doubt MB would be getting the opinions of his players as to coaching & roster management.
That would be extremely amateurish.

I think the simple explanation as to what the meeting is about is that the Habs haven't been playing well these days and Bergevin wants to hear first-hand from the team's leaders if they have any opinions on what the causes might be. Not having any of their coaches there at the same time allows those players to speak their minds more freely.

My God...why is this even being discussed? Not sure if this actually happened and if it did...we will never know what the meeting was about.
