Marc-André Fleury is playing his best hockey ever.

He hasn't had to stand on his head at all. Pens are rolling and would be with Greiss in net as well.

Pens defense is insulating him very well and he has not been swimming as much as he was in the past. Just playing well positionally, not trying to do too much. Which is good....for now.

In big games vs big rivals he still folds most of the time this year. This is what I expect in the playoffs still.

You clearly didn't watch last night's game. Both goalies did fantastic

I think this goalie coach has done wonders for him. He probably told him you aren't Brodeur but you are athletic as hell. Whenever my brother and I watch hockey and see an amazing save we call it a fleury save. When we see a Goalie handle the puck and a goal is scored it's a fleury.

I won't get into Bylsma system at all but his inability to make changes really hurt the team.

If the season ended tonight he's my Vezina vote. By the end I can see Rinne taking it.

I watched every second of last nights game. Fleury did well..no denying that, if you think that was standing on his head that is lunacy. He was hardly tested and just did his job...which is VERY good.

Fleury this year out of the games I've watched has only wanted me to throw a remote once at the t.v.. therefore he is passing criteria

Love how this is only the case with Fleury. If this was Rinne or Rask playing like this, it would be all about them. Brodeur, Rinne, Rask, all have had their best years playing behind insanely good defenses. There is a definite correlation. The most consistent goalie should get the Vezina and I haven't watched many other goalies that much, but he's easily been our biggest asset this year

Just wait until he plays the flyers in the playoffs. Things will change very quickly.

I feel like we have this thread every year? People know he's good during the regular season.

He's usually above average to good in the regular season, if he keeps up this form he might be in the Vezina discussion.

He had post season success when we had a good defensive team. When we haven't he's struggled, he's never been able to carry a team so far but a goalie shouldn't have too.

People say until he's had post season success, well he's had post season success. People on here are very short sited regarding the team in front of him, if you watched his playoffs where he struggled our team was atrocious in front of him and any goalie would have struggled. He has been mentally weak to a point and he has acknowledged it and worked on it, but only so much can be put on him.

He's a solid goalie who is far better than people give him credit for, if he wasn't our scouts and GM would have ditched him a long time ago.

i think hes improved his crazy mental issues his post work. still sketchy behind the net but much improved. hes hitting his stride... but lets not forget this is the best d core the penguins franchise has ever had. this defense is elite. frankly the d are better than the forwards and if they win a cup itll be on the back of this d. despres letang even scuderi look good lately

Yeah, even Scuderi is good, which is quite shocking. Despres is amazing and Ehrhoff is great defensively. Letang is playing extremely solid & reliable hockey. But anyways, STRUCTURE, STRUCTURE, STRUCTURE. Penguins have it. They are a great defensive team and that´s the reason why (not their offense) they can have some hopes for SC this year. When you don´t miss a stud like Maatta at all, that speaks volumes about your D-depth and overall defensive quality.
