Karri Ramo started his career in the NHL with Tampa and struggled in parts of 3 seasons with the Tampa Bay Lightning organization, then signed over in the KHL with Avangard Omsk and played very well for 4 seasons over in Holy Mother Russia, and finally retuned to the NHL to play 3 decent seasons up in Alberta with the Calgary Flames.
Question is will Karri be willing to take a cut in pay to sign with Toronto as their backup to Frederik.
Karri Ramo's cap hit in his last season with Calgary was 3.8mil, so won't be making anything close to that this season if he signs with Toronto.
The leafs are about 900k under the cap, and I could see Ramo asking for anywhere from 1.5mil to 2.25mil for at least 2 seasons.
If Toronto were willing to put either Horton, Robidas or even Lupul on LTIR that move would give Toronto move then enough salary to sign Karri.
Karri Ramo (30) does bring experience with him as he can be considered a veteran netminder with the number of years he's played in Finland, Russia and in the NHL in North America, and would also be somewhat of a mentor to the 27 year old Danish goaltender Frederik Andersen.
