surely the leafs giving ramo a stall indicates something is already done/in the works.

disagree with the 2nd part too, toronto is gonna look at asset management. LA is desperate. they are likely to offer up a pick for a goalie. leafs could easily send ramo on a conditioning stint and wait em out. if not, there is bound to be another injury and LA can be stuck with a useless Jack Campbell

I agree it looks like Ramo may sign with Toronto. Just questioning if Toronto can "profit" from he Kings now that they may have a goalie to spare.

I am not saying it won't happen, but I would be surprised.

The Kings had their chance to add a goalie. Why trade for one, especially one like Enroth. If the Kings have waited this long my guess is they don't care about Budajs back up. The time to sign or trade was when Zaktoff went out the first time. Why trade for Enroth when they can just sign a guy themselves. What's the gap between Enroth and Lindback or the next guy out there?

One theory tossed out is that the Leafs expect Griffith to be claimed back by Boston, opening up a contract spot to sign Ramo.

Or Enroth is getting moved after two starts

I think we have an open contract spot currently but have to keep it that way in case Cowen wins his arb case and he goes back on the roster

Silly how long that has taken to get an answer

Griffith was actually claimed off waivers by Florida today so that spot is definitely open now.

Why can't the Kings just sign Ramo?

As many have said, why doesn't LA just sign Ramo?

I would guess the leafs and lou did him and his agent a solid and if discussions were made maybe ramo and his agent already know they are signing with the leafs. Maybe ramo was who the leafs wanted all along but with set backs this summer the leafs signed enroth late..maybe the plan always was to see how ramo recovered and use enroth as a stop gap?

maybe they'll try and trade enroth to a team that needs a goalie.

Or maybe they really dont like enroth.

This will tell UFA not to sign in Toronto.
Imagine you just moved with your family and then they trade you after 3 games.

Just like how UFAs were supposed to stop signing in Toronto after we buried Finger in the minors, bought out Grabovski, told Cowen to stay home and all those other times right?

It's a business, no one owes Enroth anything except the paycheck they agreed on.

Your conspiracy theories

Yes, the Leafs have a leg up if Ramo is going to resign again in the NHL.

But the real reason is in town is that the Leafs have an excellent practice goalie for the Leafs and Marlies if Anderson and Bibeau for example need a rest.

Again Leaf management (Lou) are allowing Ramo to get good practice in. Don't you think Ramo's agent and other agents see this and see how the Leafs are showing respect for a guy who might get back to the NHL.
Being kind to veteran (yea the Leafs are getting something out of it too) might be rewards in the future for very little expense

Jeff Finger got rich from the Leafs, despite being placed in the minors. Any team could have claimed him....but didn't.
Grabo, wasn't he happy getting 27m buyout and now makes 4m year from the Isles?

Sure they told Cowan to stay home. But get the facts straight. They told Cowan in February that he was going to bought out. They told him he was free to make a "UFA" deal starting in February. Not the Leafs fault that no team, NO team wanted him.

Gee, the Leafs have been really loose with their money....Always spent to the cap or nearly for a non playoff team, for years. And that takes some doing.

"But get the facts straight" you wrote ???

That's funny...

Grabovski's buyout is $14.3M, not $27M.

And he's getting $5M this year ($6M next year) from the Islanders.

Get the facts straight.

The point is that players who signed long term contracts with Toronto have been moved fairly ruthlessly before, treading Enroth will have zero impact on future FAs opinion of Toronto.

and the leafs are helping LA out because.....?

Condon, waived at the start of the season, returned a 5th a couple weeks after being claimed. Enroth is better than that...

maybe a conditional 5th or something that can turn into a 4th if he plays 15 games or something

Lol Enroth is not only not better then Condon, but he'a also the smallest goalie in the league and is not playing well...

Ramo's agent is Todd Diamond who just happens to be the same agent that the Leafs big free agent Nikita Zaitsev uses (as well as Leo Komarov).

Todd Diamond represents a number of clients but mostly guys from Russia. With the Leafs having shown a strong connection to the KHL in the last few years, this type of move certainly helps steer other clients towards the Leafs.

Sure, Isles too, waived Parenteau. I wouldn't sign with Isles either.

I understand that it's business, but not after 2.5 games or preseason. Good Parenteau is proving who is the fool here :)

I wanted Ramo. But, they would've had to have started the year with Sparks had they not brought in someone else. Enroth on that contract has value. Ramo + Enroth buying him time + the golden nugget they get from Enroth is pretty good too me.
