They could demote Lilly but that's only a temporary fix.
I would waive Ritchie if we can't trade him. If he clears waivers that gives us enough capspace and it's nice to have him as depth. If he gets claimed that clears up even more capspace for us and next year too so that's fine too.

Kind of funny that as soon as we had any COVID the games were all postponed until we got back to almost full strength. Did you see the roster Montreal was forced to put out recently? I can see how that might annoy some other teams.

I agree Ritchie has been better but if he's the 13th forward that's $2.5m wasted.
Especially since we have Clifford as depth to give us toughness too.
Yeah that's fair, but I'm sure Dubas will find a way. It's impressive how he and Pridham seem to always find a way to get everyone under the cap.

I'm not even sure Engvall should be demoted to the 4th line for Mikky tbh.
Engvall-Kampf-Kase has been an excellent checking line in extreme defensive usage.

I think the day of reckoning has come. Now that everyone but Timothy Liljegren is healthy, and there is no one left on LTIR, the Leafs are over the cap and will have to decide who gets sent down.

That's certainly one opinion.
IMO, Mikhayev and Engvall are redundant and neither has the presence Ritchie does.

I'd be more inclined to move Ritchie over either, but Mikheyev is UFA at end of season and has previously asked to be moved.
They're all 3rd. liners, just glad they didn't pull another Clarkson with Ritchie.

Yeah end up f the day it’s not a huge deal who is demoted. If Sandin is back maybe Lilligren goes down for a game. I think he’s the only one who doesn’t need to go through waivers.
