That second period was rough...
Team looks alittle out of it.

One of those nights you kinda need that one big hit to spark things up.

That one big hit to spark things up

One big hit to spark things up

Big hit to spark things up

Big hit.

They are not even pretending to try. Way to show out for your GM who traded the teams future this crap.

When you’re supposedly one of the top players in the game, be nice to see you take over a game or two once in awhile, instead of waiting for others to set the tone. That’s what superstars do.

I really hope this is just an off year for him.
I really hope he wakes up in the playoffs.
I really hope.....

it’s not marners fault, he is playing with a shitty line. I’m fine with an off night

Nylander and Tavares I’m disappointed in, but they aren’t true superstars so it’s fine

Were you referring to someone else?

Nah. One game shouldn't be enough to get you out of the line-up, especially when Mo and Holl can have several without consequences. Granted he HAS been brutal today.

When you have 9 defensemen, one bad game warrants a sit to reflect on your actions.

Rielly is our #1 D - would be stupid to sit him

Imagine thinking Luke Schenn will move the needle one little bit. So so desperate.

Have speedy/skilled team - lose to gritty teams.

Have grit/toughness/proven winners- lose to speedy/skilled team

What is the common denominator?

For those who will defend them for eternity, no matter what, the answer is- your best players not platform not to their standards and abilities.

They can't. Like they literally can't right? What's the next guy or gal supposed to do?
The leafs are screwed either way. Because whether dubas stays or goes, there is a mess to clean up, guys dubas brought in on expiring contracts and a matthews and nylander extensions because dubas thought it was a great idea to sign matthews to 5 yrs with a NTC in the 5th year. MLSE will find another dufas to hire and rinse and repeat

Rogers listen up, Leaf’s are the only reason I have cable. Many more games like this and I’ll be happy just watching the Saturday night game.
