I don't get it. The rule states that's not a good goal regardless who it hit last, but I've seen goals counted that kicked off the opposing team. The lack of consistency is such a joke.

The ref announced, and I quote, "The puck was kicked into the net". That is a verifiably false statement.

My buddy is a ref and he says even if it hits a skate and stick on the way, it's a stick that has to propel it in so the kick would still make it a called off goal.
