like i said earlier detroit fans overrate mantha value..hes not the 50 goal scorer he was in the Q ..hes also not dominant in the ahl.. I f you need the list of player'S who busted after getting 50g and 100+ pts in the q let me know its kinda big. not saying that hes a bust ''yet''.

The list of players who scored 50 in their draft year and busted is actually nonexistent essentially.

I think detroits fan are overrating mantha ..Beaulieu has more value at this point..we know beaulieu is a top 4d atm and he has the tools to be even better..mantha will be 22 in september and has 10 games under is belt. I hope mantha make the roster this year so we can see

Yeah. Us Detroit fans (some of us excluded) vastly overate a lot of our prospects/roster players. As does our gm.

Quite a few fans over rate their top prospects, Mantha's played 10 NHL games so far and in those 10 games our PP went from 25th worst to 13th best so he had to make some kind of impact there. Just sayin.

I'm sure your basing this off stat watching his rookie AHL. The same year he missed training camp and broke a leg no big deal. He turned up last year and we expect some great results this year in Grand Rapids. I wouldn't want to trade him unless another center/defenseman prospect was coming back with some good potential e.g. Sergachev. If not we will keep our player and I'm really curious to see this big list.

its been 4 years since mantha was drafted..injury's happen..but is stock value dropped since the draft..i am not saying mantha wont be a 30-30 power foward, but has we speak its not the case..oilers fans where saying the samething for 2 years straight about yakupov..same thing happened with us ..sherback is a similar prospect great expectations incredible rookie camp, got injured ..not very dominant in the ahl.20 year old but is value also dropped..This year mantha has no excuses. 2 years in the ahl..he should make the team this year and see what kind of player he is.

On a normal team, yes. Holland signing someone like Vanek for 1 year at his salary, blocks the player.

It'd be nice if the GM at least left a spot open at say 13th forward.

I don't think his value has dropped after all he was drafted 20th OVR. He got overhyped playing in the Q however has progressed in every facet of his game. He was on an absolute tear in the second half + playoffs last year. I don't think it's out of question he will be a ppg player in the AHL next year. Detroit is known for overippening our prospects.

Well then clearly the Habs shouldn't want Mantha.

This is the thread where Habs fans talk about how much of a bust Mantha is but are super willing to take him off Detroit's hands for nothing.

Did you see me at any point saying i want mantha? i am just reacting to some fans saying montreal has nothing to give for mantha, since in their mind is value is extremly high..my personal opignon on the beaulieu versus mantha is and still is , that beaulieu to me has more value..we know for a fact that next year he will play top minute and play in the top 4..and beaulieu has not yet reach is potential yet. but again this is my own opignon ..id like to see the kid crack the line up and become a star ! (mantha)

I mean lets go with the logic here

1. beaulieu 1st round pick 17 overall good pedigree has 151 games (total package 6'2 great skater, good vision , good shot etc top 4 D atm

2. mantha 1st round pick 20 overall -good pedigree..6'5 ..great skater for is size , great shot (good release) projected top 6 ..10 games

So has we speak How can mantha has more value? similar draft rank similar prospect rating both with great potential..one has 151 games other has 10 games..beaulieu is 23 mantha 21..So the only reason you can say mantha is worth more are basicly on projections..but this can go both way..just saying

The Wings don't want to trade for Beaulieu because he adds nothing to the team. There is nothing unique or exceptional about him and he doesn't provide a noticeable improvement to the team. He is just another guy that is currently a 3rd pairing Dman and not any better than what the Wings currently have.

Yes you are correct that Beaulieu has played more NHL games than Mantha, but Mantha has the size and scoring ability that the Wings desperately need. Therefore the team won't trade him unless they get something else they are desperate for.

Counter offer:

Juulsen for Frk, Sproul, and a second 2017

Hudson actually has way better stats than Mantha in the AHL and they are both the same age
Thats why I added a D prospect and a Second, But I understand if you want t keep him

i am not suggesting a trade..i see your point of view ..that if you where to move mantha in a package deal the wing would ask for a top 2 or 3rd D ..but my point here is not about that..anyway time to put this to rest :)

Hudon is 5'10" and produced practically the same as Mantha this year so if you are referring to him you may want to number crunch that again. We will keep our guy and hope that he continues to improve and hopefully Holland doesn't sign another rental so Mantha has a top 6 spot.

No, we're not trading our top non-NHL prospect for your spare parts. No, Detroit doesn't need another LD with "top-4 potential" in Beaulieu. And frankly, I'm not high on Juulsen.

Mantha+ for Sergachev would be my deal if you want it. I understand if you don't but there is nothing else particularly interesting in Montreal for Detroit (unless you decided to sell Galchenyuk for peanuts).

Nothing interesting in Montreal....I would think there are at least 10 players in Montreal holding more value than Mantha...and that's including Beaulieu

There are also team needs, salary cap, available roster spots and so on. An abstract team could want that 10 or more players - DRW had no need for them in exchange for Mantha.
