Manchester United partial sale completed: Jim Ratcliffe acquires 27.7% share, 100% control of sporting side)

Gotta give credit to @The Abusement Park , I remember you telling me that the Glazers were using the club to take funds and yeah mate, you were 100% correct. How they've run the club and absolutely destroyed a legendary stadium is shambolic. That is truly some of the worst ownership I think I have ever seen, even over the Arizona Coyotes.
I mean it's been insanely transparent since SAF left. In hindsight you can see the cracks starting to show at the end of SAF's tenure, but the dude was a magician and could somehow paper over all of the mismanagement.

From RedCafe, same post where the tweet was:

The next phase of the design (RD2) will take 6-8 months for a team of 15-20 designers, after which a lot more of the detail of the final stadium design, will be made public.

A view from a different angle...

If I were a United fan, I would be concerned about a 100k stadium that nobody knows how it will be paid for. No way they will be able to fill that stadium.
Players to pay for their own boots, kit, and a monthly fee to use the training facilities. Also, responsible for paying for and preparing their own food. Remaining stewards and security will be sacked and fans will now have the opportunity to bid on being stewards each match day--cost of official poncho and any necessary equipment will be charged to the "winning" fans. If insufficient winning bids are received, the winners will be selected at random and charged the appropriate fees.

Don't worry, Ebenezer Radcliffe will find the spare change for it.

This sounds like Forest Green FC lol.

Man Divided owe 600 million US dollars in debt and their 2 billion pound stadium will rest solely on financial help from outside investors...meaning they will not own the stadium and will have to pay taxes/rent on it lol akin to Serie A clubs about 10-20 years ago.

There was a great article comparing this move to Arsenal's and how Arsenal was in a way better place both on the pitch and in the books before going all out on Emirates. It also showed how unsuccessful Arsenal has been since the move on top of that.

This move sounds completely stupid for them to conduct based on the further readings I have done.

The problem with this line of thinking is that Old Trafford already generates revenue. So you have to look at the delta in revenue to see if it will cover the annual cost.
Old Trafford is lacking in VIP boxes/luxury suites. For example, Emirates stadium produces more revenue just from their suites/VIP boxes in one match than whole of Highbury.

Matchday revenue for English clubs based on Deloitte (of clubs in the top 20 on their rankings)

Arsenal: 153M
United: 152M
Liverpool: 132M
Spurs: 123M
Chelsea: 93M
City: 88M
Newcastle: 68M
West Ham: 52M
Aston Villa: 52M

Theoretically if you think Real's 250m/season is attainable that increase allows you to service 2 billion in debt at 5%, but that 250 seems aggressive given where all the other English clubs are at. Sure only Spurs are in a brand new stadium, but it's not like the others are in piles of trash like OT is right now.
