i think the only reasonable path forward is to place aquilini, jr, allvin, tocchet and probably like castonguay, granato and the golfing doc harry sese in stocks in robson square so we can all go pelt them with rotten fruit
This we agree on. Ruthervin's PR has been very poor and it's a significant handicap in a hockey-crazy market. These recent leaks in particular have been very bad.The management team is probably above average when it comes to roster management, trades, contracts, pro and amateur scouting. Issue they are absolute ass with PR & media management and if they don’t fix that, that will lead to their downfall.
I'd also split the pro scouting grade with forward pro scouting being quite good, and defense pro scouting being quite bad.The management team is probably above average when it comes to roster management, trades, contracts, pro and amateur scouting. Their defensive pro scouting was good. I don't know what happened.I'd also split the pro scouting grade with forward pro scouting being quite good, and defense pro scouting being quite bad.
Well I think they nailed all the D acquisition last season so they can identify good d. I think strategy is the bigger issue because someone the were convinced that size > puck moving.I'd also split the pro scouting grade with forward pro scouting being quite good, and defense pro scouting being quite bad.
Yeah they need to recognize that the Vancouver media will gladly run with stories that will burn the team down because they really don’t give a f*** about the well being of the team and fans. This we agree on. I liked what they did last year but the other two years have sucked. At the end of the day, 1 legitimate top 4 d added in 3 years tenure while paying a ton of futures/buyouts to try and compete, when the entire problem with the team on day 1 was the defense needed a full rebuild, gets them a failing grade from me.Their defensive pro scouting was good. I don't know that happened.
I want to try to use this sentence in a conversation soon.I don't know that happened.
I honestly have no idea what direction this team should now take.
Cant rebuild.
Dont have enough talent.
The players do not like competing together.
Dont have any significant prospects or picks.
Stuck.
I think their pro scouting has still been ok. Forbort has been good for the price, and Myers’ contract is fair-ish. Desharnais was a swing and miss but no team is going to bat 1.000.Their defensive pro scouting was good. I don't know that happened.

The problem has been more on the allocation of resources across the roster, which falls to management.
Rachel,
The management team is probably above average when it comes to roster management, trades, contracts, pro and amateur scouting. Issue they are absolute ass with PR & media management and if they don’t fix that, that will lead to their downfall.
The mistake was how they handled her firing and the PR disaster that followed. The mistake was hiring her in the first place. I don't agree with the hate she gets but she's clearly not someone who does well within an organizational framework.
I think the Canucks' management, more than previous regimes, are particularly controlling about who gets to talk to the media. You only hear Allvin, Rutherford, and Tocchet speak. When was the last time Granato sat for an interview unrelated to her hockey playing accomplishments? Or Castonguay? The mistake was hiring her in the first place. I don't agree with the hate she gets but she's clearly not someone who does well within an organizational framework.
What mistake(s) did they make in handling her firing? What would you suggest the Canucks to have done differently? The mistake was how they handled her firing and the PR disaster that followed.
Its a pattern.
Pay her off. What mistake(s) did they make in handling her firing? What would you suggest the Canucks to have done differently?
Pay her off.
Come up with a story that the parting was amicable. Run that as the headline.
I am.I could be wrong, but I'm under the impression that she was paid what she was due under her contract. I don't believe she is suing to be paid what she was due or for severance etc.
Are you suggesting that the Canucks should pay her off to keep her mouth shut?
Not really. That also requires her to have threatened that as well.
What are the other ways?Or in other ways make the parting not as devastating to her career and reputation.
Not really.
I dont think the concept is complicated enough to warrant a discussion.
This happens all the time in business with high PR profile.
