I don't know if these players get compared that often but maybe they should as they are quite similar and unique in their own ways. They both were the second best forward in their team as they played with a top 3 superstar center, have similar build and similar point production.

-Rantanen 215 lbs

Stats for regular season:

• Malkin, first 644 gp: 760p = 1.18 ppg
• Rantanen, first 619 gp: 681p = 1.10 ppg

Stats for playoffs:

• Malkin first 83 gp: 97p = 1.16 ppg
• Rantanen first 81 gp: 101p = 1.24 ppg

Malking was a bit better during the regular season but the roles reversed in the playoffs.

I don't know where you got this Malkin size from but I was thinking there is no way he is Rantanen's size. And he isn't. Rants looks like a monster on the ice.

Anyways, Despite how my profile looks, Malkin clears this. Easily. And it is nothing against Rantanen, Malkin was just different kind of beast

Ok. actually he weights much less.

Its because he played in different era. Less scoring. Also had weaker linemates that Rantanen is used to. No, Crosby played very very rarely with Geno outside of pp.

And Rantanen is still an amazing playoff player by himself. Just not quite in a clear top3 of his era like Malkin was
