Nylander scores 42 goals & gets into his first fight:popcorn: becoming a fan favorite.

Leafs lose game 7 to Bruins in double OT, who go on to win the Stanley Cup.

It is bold. Look at their division. They aren't the 2nd best team.

There is no team in the Atlantic that is obviously better than the Leafs other than Tampa, and even they are weakened noticeably vs last year

They'll win the division and fizzle in the first round again.

Not so bold prediction: Marner still doesn't score a playoff goal.

Rasmus Sandin has a very good season and has a lot of this forum declaring Morgan Rielly is expendable.

AM won’t make it back before the season which leads to Ritchie-JT-Marner forming a line, While Willie and AF continues their playoff magic with Kase. While the Leafs is a top team in the league with top 3 PP% without AM.
AM starts the season sometime in late Oct but since the team is doing extremely well and Dubas wants to maximize cap savings, AM started the season with the Marlies via conditional status.
Leafs continues to do well without AM and by the time AM comes back, he ends up playing with Spezza and Bunting as a shelter 3rd line and on PP2(since PP1 is top of the league in PP at this point).
AM tear up the league as 3C and PP2 while the other two lines continue with their strong play and PP1 is just unstoppable. While the Leafs enjoy a 18 games winning streak.
By TDL, Dubas trades away Soup and even Engvall for futures and somehow got Phil to increase depth scoring.
Everything looking good in the first round against the Bruins, as Bergeron can only play against JT, Willie or AM line, while the other two are just taking advantage of it. Until Game 4 while leading 4-1 in the 3rd period with 11 minutes left, Bruins stormed back to tie the game and head to OT. Keefe in a very uncharacteristic move, put JT-AM-Willie to start the 2nd OT and right away they score and send the Bruins packing.
In the 2nd round facing a tired TB team, Leafs manage to beat them in 6. Facing against Lou and Islanders, Ritchie, Simmonds and Gabriel prove to be the diff while Willie gets his first fight with Martin.
In the Cup finals, they face off against Toews and the Hawks in an epic 7 games series. In the 7th game, Spezza summons his vintage power by scoring a deflection off his behind to win it for the Leafs.

Then Reilly signs with Seattle as a UFA during the off season.

Ritchie plays so amazingly he is almost unrecognizable, they erect a statue of him in Orangeville and Tavares passes him the C next year

ALSO

Simmonds, Gabriel and Ritchie form the toughest line in hockey......ever

Attendance at the Leaf parade is higher than it was at the Raptor's parade.

you did say bold...

Leafs won't win under Dubas. They will regret hiring a rookie GM and not learning from the John Ferguson Jr. experience that was much too recent. Another rebuild just around the corner and they will blame the pandemic and changing economics rather than lack of planning and forethought.

Auston Matthews records a Gordie Howe Hattrick this season.

Marner scores 35 goals.

Sandin scores 40 points as a rookie.

The PP starts red hot, and then slowly dies as the year goes on until we can't score for the life of us right before the playoffs, BUT this time the coaching staff make an adjustment and fix it.

Robertson gets a regular spot somewhere in the Top 6 (maybe more realistic Top 9) by the end of the season.

When you look at our LW depth its not the greatest depth with Ritchie, Bunting, Mikheyev, and ocassionally Engvall, Brooks, and Kerfoot. So its not unimaginable that he could leapfrog a lot of guys if he performs well.

Leafs have a very strong season, and all of the negative people disappear for some time.
