So, does that mean, our new affiliate will be named the LA Manchesters? :dunno:

Again, IF this is happening, the Kings' part would be moving the Monarchs franchise into Ontario (at least that's what seems to make the most sense). If I were in charge of the marketing, I would rename the AHL team the Ontario Reign, to keep the existing Ontario fanbase identified with the team despite the change in leagues and opponents. Then again, maybe they'll keep the "Monarchs" name and call them the Ontario Monarchs. We won't know until it happens, if it happens.

I'm in oc, so, I wouldn't mind if they relocated here. I would love to check out our prospects!

Maybe the Manchester Monarchs of Anaheim, anyone? :sarcasm:

I think it would be great to move the AHL team to Ontario! We could be able to watch our prospects grow and develop. It would let the fans know the prospects more in-depth and see the future of the franchise.

Frankly, I just like the idea of the players being closer to the NHL so that they constantly see what they are playing for. It also helps them to adjust to the local life. Also, it helps us keep the coaching staff, assistant GMs, and development personnel involved in Manchester centralized so that they can be helping more people more often. That's never a bad thing. Don't like the spreading out, although I do worry about dropping young kids into Ontario with nothing to do but figure out how to be pros more than I worry about dropping them into Manchester, NH.

Yeah, but wouldn't they just re-locate the Wranglers in Vegas? Doubt they'd move the Wranglers elsewhere and then bring in the Reign. I know Reno has been vying to get back their ECHL franchise for a few years, but I doubt they have the economics and willpower to get a deal going or the constitution to actually get it done. There should be plenty of other nearby locales for either club though.

I just saw the news that the Wranglers won't be on the roof but rather...I believe...just south of the Greyhound bus station...and RIGHT ON TOP OF A BUS STOP... It will take up about 400-500 parking spaces in that lot though...and hold around 10K... Plus they have a 5 year contract...which might give some wiggle room for an AHL team to take over there...

No way in hell would an NHL team drop their top prospects into Las Vegas. Not going to happen.

Agreed. Talk about the distractions of a small town kid now making good change in a city like Vegas! I rather the Kings put their top prospects in Siberia. They'd have nothing to do but eat, sleep, and dream about hockey!

Ontario "Monarchs" (Varsity)
Ontario Reign (JV) :D

move 'em to the Forum, and they could remain the Manchester Monarchs...

This would be sweet.

As a Monarchs season ticket holder since year one, I would bet the bank that Monarchs fans would not support a lesser league team coming to Manch. :shakehead

With a new arena and solid attendance, Manchester I think would immediately get a new ahl team. Still bummed about this likely happening....
