I was at the game tonight and we didn't play that bad...a few pucks mishandled and some bad penalties taken but we had our chances.

This team is full of talent. Too many of you guys don't have the patience to last a season. I guess that's the principal reason boards like this exist.

Was at the game tonight. This team is barely interested right now. They came out great, but you could see the lack of intensity on their faces for the majority of this game. They weren't jawing, weren't trying to be assertive, they weren't doing much of anything really. They are very ho-hum right now.

I doubt any major change is made, and it really doesn't need to be. But something needs to be done to wake them up. The big problem is not a skill issue, it's an effort issue.

It still amazes me how nonchalant the Kings are playing, yet they stay in games with the best team in the league and are still having a great overall season.

Great post. I just lost interest myself about halfway through, player body language may have had a lot to do with it. The intensity was awesome in the first period but it seemed to wane after we took penalties 3 and 4 in the second period.

Could be wrong though. Thought that was on a non-contender. Maybe if pms... err... cns would acknowledge me he could chime in. ;)

But if they see Vey has top 6 center shot then maybe they can make a big shake up to get the team going by trading Richards for Hall which would be ****ing awesome. Hall is really talented.

Aren't the Scouting reports that he's a top 6?

Nope, there isn't a scouting report that ever claimed Vey would be a top six Center

The guy was a Fourth round pick for a reason folks ....

Very is a good AHL Center, no one knows if he can develop into an NHL one.

Who?

I want names, and what type of production you are counting on from these so called talented players.

You know who.

The same guys who couldn't drive a puck into the Pacific Ocean in 2011-12, who were scoring at a more pitiful pace then they are right now, who caught on fire in the last 21 games of the season and continued on for 20 more games in the playoffs, scoring at a pace of over 3 goals a game while continuing the same stingy defense they are playing right now.

Those guys.

The players definitely need a kick in the ass, but even more importantly they need to get their offensive system overhauled. Our reliance on lucky bounces is just asinine at this point. Everyone knows what we are going to do, we have the most predictable offense in the league and none of our shots are quick and spontaneous, they are always fed out to the point or the sides/half-boards and stickhandled for a second and then fired into traffic hoping to get a bounce.

We need more speed, one-timers, and general offensive creativity. We can point fingers at Payne, but Sutter is really the guy that needs to be convinced that we should re-solidify our lines and re-evaluate our offensive philosophy and how we should go about getting goals. In 2012, we weren't relying on bounces, we were making plays with speed and getting shots off quick. Now we are slow, trying to make quick passes, but mostly mishandling and holding onto the puck for too long, and just being plain bad and ineffective.

The players need a kick in the ass and to break out the smelling salts, but our coaches also need a bop on the head and a refresher in modern offensive tactics. They are going to need to rip a page out of Chicago's book on how to score goals because this whole feed it to the point, get a big body to the net, and fire into traffic praying for a bounce method is just too random and unreliable. We didn't win a cup on garbage goals. It can help you make the playoffs, but when you are making a run for it, you need to be making plays and getting good shot off quickly.

In any case, you can't restructure the whole team just because a player has positional potential.

Send Sutter to Manchester to get his Mojo back, Bring up Morris! All kidding aside, things need to change!

Obviously, we need to sacrifice more Monarchs.

In all seriousness, Trading Stoll is a good place to start. Maybe even fire Payne since our PP is complete rubbish. Brown or somebody with a drop of leadership should call a players only meeting at this point.

Trading Richards isn't the answer. Despite his struggles, he isn't the boat anchor some are making him out to be. There is a lot more wrong with this team than our second leading point producer.

They don't even go the the net , they are not even trying to emulate a Terry Murray offense.....So that's why I don't blame the coaches.....Its 100% the players .

You are really stuck on 2012. You know times change. You know 3 of the 4 conference finalists are currently out of the playoffs this year.

Do you think Dustin Brown, Mike Richards, Anze Kopitar, Willie Mitchell, Justin Williams, Matt Greene are the same players they were two years ago? Penner and Scuderi are gone and haven't replaced what they did in that run.

How long will you cling to 2012?

Trading Stoll doesn't do anything , everyone in the locker room would simply say

" sucks for Stoll"

I'd trade Stoll because $3.5 million is way to much for a player that only is good at the dot.

Trading Richards isn't the answer. Despite his struggles, he isn't the boat anchor some are making him out to be. There is a lot more wrong with this team than our second leading point producer.

Yup.

I wouldn't be so sure.
