Honestly, I'm sure there is still NHL potential there in Sogaard... just not with us.
We just don't have the personnel, or even the desire frankly, to play the extreme diligent shutdown system that would be required to maximize the utility of his size, where Soogs can just play a simple butterfly game.
He probably also needs at least two more years of AHL/other league play to simplify and reinvent his game.

And with that cup of coffee he's managed a career .886 save percentage.
.826 this game and .765 last game. That should be enough to show he's not NHL calibre whatsoever.

Should never have given him a one way next year... dime a dozen AHL goalie.
He could end up finding his game at some point somewhere .. he has not been close for a couple years now.

It's irrelevant, only costs Andlauer more money if he's sent down. The cap hit will be buried.

Garrioch mentioned earlier in the season (probably around the LA game) that Ottawa might look to trade him at the deadline. Can’t imagine this game helped his case.

He isn't it. Maybe in a few year he will be, but he is clearly #4 on the depth charts possibly #5 if you count Subban who doesn't even have a contract with us.
I highly doubt someone will claim him from waivers next year so you can still let him have another 1.5 seasons of development.
Sens should be looking for a #2A back up goalie right now that can push Forsberg this year or be an insurance policy when Ullmark gets injured and to be the back up next year. If a guy like Lyon is available you go for him.

No more games for him, time to cut the cord and bury him in the AHL or ECHL if that’s possible until his contract is done or by some miracle can be traded.
He’s had every opportunity, he’s both regularly injured and not good. There is absolutely no reason to keep working on this project.

He's a decent AHL goalie, no need to put him in the ECHL. But hes option 4 or power at the NHL.
Hope we claimed Primeau, get a look at something different and give Belleville back one of their guys.
Even Hrudey was saying he may have used up his last chance.
I am not sure what Green was thinking either. They have their reasons, but I would have thought LM would have gotten that start.

I haven’t had much faith in Sogaard for a while.
It’s too bad we moved Gustavsson and Daccord. I think we need to give Leevi a whirl now and hope for the best.

I didn’t think their 2nd and 3rd periods were that great, but I do think giving Leevi the net is worth a try for sure.
There was a pp in the second that Sanderson had almost all his passes tipped. You’re the QB lol and all you do is play low risk passes. How does the other team get a stick on them as often as they do.

Green was likely thinking in back to back games, he'd need to give each a game. The org obviously isn't as down on him as fans are, likely because they payore attention to his AHL games than the average fan, but there comes a point where it doesn't matter how well he plays in the AHL if it continues to not transfer to the NHL level.
I'm disappointed we didn't claim Primeau and give him a change of scenery to find his game, I don't think we can keep running back to Sogaard even as our 4th goalie
