Kinda funny he says he's gassed considering he averages 3 minutes more per game with the avs than he did tonight.

Maybe this is his indirect way of tell Bednar to give him a break once in awhile lol

regular season hockey is not playoff hockey and this tournament is somewhere in the middle of those two.

Plus two minutes of 3 on 3 probably equals like four minutes of 5 on 5.

I mean Marner's OT winner was from further out than his chances. Only difference was his shots didn't go in and Marner's did. If one of those went in he'd be a hero and no one would be here crying.

The difference is Crosby backed the Swedes off the blueline and gave Marner free space into the zone. Marner didn't try to deke out 4 players and then snipe it bar down. Hagel was better in overtime than Mackinnon, might not show up on the Tiktok highlights though.

Well ya, I get that but that's also not a reason to make a league wide decision on something. I'm sure Mackinnon would also like Avs to start with the puck after every stoppage and have a powerplay for the full game. You make rules for the entire league and teams and coaches can adjust to them, not the other way around.

I do as well, but I still think there's need for a no-doubling-back rule once possession is gained over the centre line. If it wasn't for MacKinnon's bullrushes up the ice, I think we could've witnessed relapses into the boring, circle-back tepid zone entry we typically see.

So I know we’re all gassing on Mack here, but one consequence of longer OT’s will be guys playing super conservative to conserve energy. He won’t be going all out every time like he did yesterday, meaning he’ll just slow the game down.

I honestly love the box lacrosse style shot clock where every shot resets the clock back to 30 seconds. I don’t think we need anything other than that tbh. 5 minutes of that at 3v3 and we’ll see more goals

He would’ve been gassed that was one of the most selfish plays I’ve seen in hockey. Connor and Sid were taking 30 Second shifts while he was out there for the whole time it looked like. And I’m not criticizing him for not passing I thought the shots were good shots.

I agree with you I wanted to see more of Mack, McDavid and Makar in that 3v3. That's shame how much sh** Mack is getting right now meanwhile us Avs fans are like "Damnn he's shooting!!! Why doesn't he do that more often". I'm not surprised with how Mack played in that OT though not saying he's dumb but he's prone making these low percentage shot but still thought he had chances. Trying to go berserk every single puck possession was a bit too much.
