We clearly needed an upgrade. I was at the game on Tuesday and when the leafs have 6 left handed defenseman playing it is pure chaos.

If they're cheaping out they should just go and get Schenn back as well. Pay for 50% retention. Rotate Schenn and Boosh beside Rielly. If Lilegren gets exposed or I jured they can sub in for him.

Keefe used him as a 13:55 number guy last playoff. Can you see him any higher in the lineup today? I think what it does do is make it too crowded to add another D tho so looks like the playoff boost.

Noting some of the loudest detractors were the same guys incensed he beat out Lil for the playoffs two years ago. And no he wasn't awful either, was actually very good in a couple games. Should be the same now, and with a less impactful Brodie and Gio, we need something.

I doubt the plan is to play him with Rielly for an extended time.

I don't see many alternatives at the moment. A team also likely wouldn't seek double retention on a player they didn't have some fairly serious plans for.

Nah... I liked Schenn, Bogo and Benoit. Schenn was a great homecoming... Bogo was needed.. Benoit was a nothing deal, and he surprised us all. I don't think Boosh is very good. At least Schenn had looked good with Hughes.

I beg to differ. That Makar is so elite he could play with anyone. We gotta stop making excuses for Morgan. He’s not the strongest defensively. Good leader but there’s a reason why our record and defensive structure is better without him. Love him but I think there’s something there

I recall his advanced stats, then watching him join camp late and be the stinkiest ass I've ever seen, when we called him up I was terrified. He's been amazing and is still getting better, we'd be f***ed without his emergence this season McCabe/Benoit are sssoolllid.
