Ehlers with an assist tonight extends his point streak to five games I believe. It was a good one, too. Won a race down the ice to the puck and fed Scheifele.

I only caught the 3rd period but the kid looked great in that last period. Two really good chances, solid on the back check and that forecheck. Beats out Chicago's D to the puck, kept possession, waits for Scheif, back hand pass and Sheif with the snipe short side.
Those two have great chemistry.

It was a key goal, making it 3-1 in the third. He manufactured the goal with his speed and then vision and lovely pass. He was strong again.

That chemistry with Scheifele (and Perrault) :handclap: compliments each other nicely, it was obvious early on even I could see it, I believe last preseason Ehlers fed Scheif with the backhand around the net for a goal in their first game together. This one two punch with the Scheifele and Ladd lines looks dangerous

The scoring winger the Canucks really need right now.. I mean Virtanen is a TANK but damn...

I didnt think he had that great of a game tonight. He telegraphs his shot to the glove side when he cuts to the middle. Crawford was waiting for it :(

However, he did have some other good chances and that Scheifele goal was made possible by Ehlers unusual speed. :handclap:

but in that play it's incredibly difficult to try to try to score far side (blocker). when you cut to the middle, the goal is to get the goalie moving to the far side so that you have more room nearside (99.9% of NHL goalies know the shot is coming to the near side when he does that, but they may have slide too far and gave too much room when they pushed over).

Very impressed by Ehlers tonight. He's a puck hound, relentless. Just caused a PIM with those traits. No doubt about it. This kid is for real.

surprised hes this good. I thought he wouldn't handle the nhl so quickly.

damn dead wrong. good for him though nice pick. kids only 19 too. 170lbs, quite inspiring.

The NHL is becoming a no touch league which allows smaller guys more room to be effective. Ehlers is 6ft tall and apparently 180 now . He aint 5ft 8 or anything .

Ehlers make an incredible move coming down the wing last night vs the Flyers. Faked a slapshot at full speed, got Gudas to go down for a block attempt, then cut laterally into the middle of the ice and tried to go glove side against the grain. If Neuvirth wasn't red hot, that's a beautiful goal.

He didn't get any points against the Leafs in this week's game, but he was one of the most impressive players on the ice, if not the most impressive.

His Points are nice and an important measure, but the way he carries the play, makes smart plays, makes things happen for his teammates even when he is not putting points up is certainly a plus. At only 19 to do this at the NHL, this shines a very bright light on his career.

He is justifying why he made the Jets (a very good team) as a junior eligible player.

Oh, I agree, I forgot the Leafs game :)
