I didn't hear anything like this when Othmann & Barlow wanted out of Flint/OSWhat’s with these self entitled Americans asking for trades?
Canadian Bias is alive and well

Sudbury's roster isn't as good this year...he just wants to go to a better team for his last year in the OHL. As a Canadian, who has lived in Sudbury before...this has nothing to do with being a self-entitled American...Canadian players do this as well.
Sounds like it also plays into the criticism he got in Sharks camp for being all offense and not playing well away from the puck. Sudbury doesn’t sound like a good environment for Musty to improve on his deficiencies.Sudbury's roster isn't as good this year...he just wants to go to a better team for his last year in the OHL. I disagree on upside gap between the two. I think their upside is comparable (albeit different position), with Dickinson being more likely to be an impact player. That is helpful to understand, thanks. Obviously Gushchin being 22, turning 23 in February, can help explain how he's ready to go, while Musty just turned 19.
Dickinson is like a ready made NHLer but I think there's an upside gap there with Musty.
Got the exact opposite actuallyUnless the Sudbury management was pulling some Mike Babcock shit on him (which I doubt as he's their top player) this doesn't seem good.
I assume the Sharks are in on this and either told him to hold out or at least support him holding out.
It depends. If they are getting good offers and trying to hit a home run it's on them. If they aren't getting any decent offers there is nothing they can do.Got to be honest, I was wrong that this would still be dragging on by now. Not a good look for Sudbury. Going to hurt the return they get and agents for future players will take note. But hey, guess they showed him? /s
If Sudbury lets Musty sit out for three months, they've tanked his value. If an offer was coming that they were willing to accept already was on the table, they'd have taken it. Offers are only going to be worse as this goes on. This feels spiteful.Good for Sudbury. He is a talented player and the offers will come. Let him sit until the trade deadline if that is his choice , only hurts him. They will get a boatload at the deadline if not before if they are patient enough and it appears they will be. Right and wrong ways to go about a trade , this isn't the right way. Teams are still figuring out what they have at this point , probably by December things will start to clear. I would just come back and play some hockey for awhile if I was him.
There's an unspoken rule in the CHL that as a GM you don't play chicken with players that ask for trades. You move them and move on. No one's ever won by being willfully difficult about the request.Good for Sudbury. He is a talented player and the offers will come. This was implied by will Smith in an interview a few months ago. I think someone linked to it a few pages back.Probably regrets not taking his NTDP offer in hindsight. You maintain more control over your development by going the USHL to NCAA route.
They’d get more in return for a full season or 4/5ths of a season rather than half the year. Also hurts their brand when a big name player like this wants out and they aren’t trading him. Other players will take notice not to mention it’s way up north where people probably already don’t want to go and they’re one of a few OHL teams without a championship I believeGood for Sudbury. He couldn't anyway as he's signed. They’d get more in return for a full season or 4/5ths of a season rather than half the year. If the NCAA was an option this year I absolutely would think 100000% he would be going there. Sudbury is lucky this isn’t next season with the new rules implemented
It only hurts Sudbury. They get more for him in a trade now than they would at the deadline. You think he’s just sitting at his house eating chips? Hes on the ice dailyGood for Sudbury. Pretty sure Sudbury(the team) made it public not Musty or his agentFrom article posted it sounds like Grier is losing patience with Mustys agent.
Not at all surprising considering they went about this trade request completely wrong.
Make it PRIVATELY known you'd like to be moved, come back, work ON YOUR game as stated by SJ staff and be professional.
Was first publicly stated by Jeff Marek....... where do you think he gets his information from. Jeeze, that's day one stuff.Pretty sure Sudbury(the team) made it public not Musty or his agent
