5g 5a in the last six games.

Very good skills and great size for a very young kid.

He's tearing it up on the 1st line. I think he'll be a good one.

I saw him play earlier this season in a more limited role and was impressed by his skating, size and positioning (for his age and the WHL).

Has the potential to be a 1st rounder for sure as he gains experience and his skill set becomes more well known.

His floor is as an NHL player but his ceiling is still being processed.

Portland has done very well to stock their shelves and will be a top team in the WHL despite the loss of draft picks in the "fly the parents in Gate" which was pretty extreme and might be lessened at a further date.

Has the size of a 20 year old
Plays like a 20 year old
And he is the youngest player in the dub this year.

Normally in all the games I have seen Portland he was always used as a bottom 6 grinder and wasn't notable to be honest, but in this tourney he really has stepped up his game and is looking like a top 60 player for 2015.

To me, thats an amazing thing. He is eligible for the 2015 draft I believe meaning he has two more seasons to get bigger, stronger, and more experienced.

His style is simple but smart, so more experience on a championship team like Portland means he is going to get much better IMO.

Big fan of his game. For me, he's been a standout on the Winterhawks in the Memorial Cup. He's also been bumped up to the second line for them since Leier went down. Very smart defensively, pretty good skater for his size, and ok tools around the net.

With that being said, I wish for his sake that his draft year was in 2014. I could see that extra year of exposure hurting him, giving scouts an extra year to pick his game apart.

Potentinal 1st Rounder in 2015?

Yeah, I would say so. He'll likely play legit top 6 minutes next year and will have a big chance to improve offensively as he's already a solid defensive player.

To add, he is already quite good along the boards and uses his size quite good for a '15 eligible. Getting more time on the top six will make an already solid WHL grinder even better.

How does he skate for such a big guy?

Really well. He has really nice soft hands for a big man. I like how his physical game has developed over the year. When he fills out he will be one tough tough guy to play against. Top 10 for sure 2015

For me, his skating is decent, not amazing but not bad. But for me, a '15 draft eligible to look that solid in the WHL and not look out of place when he plays the grinder roles, the power roles, and now a bit of the offensive role, is amazing. Just my two cents but I think he's going to be a very good player.

So what do people think he compares to? Like a Max pacioretty type player?

I don't think his hands are that exceptionally soft at all to be honest, he bobbles it quite a bit and doesn't react super fast with it. Contributing as a rookie in the WHL though is honestly one of the hardest things to do in hockey I believe and he was able to do it. Just don't know what his upside is, like I said I think his puck skills and hockey sense can definitely use work but he already knows how to use his body effectively and knows how to make himself a contributor in hockey games as a 16-year-old. Lots of development to go but decent package at this point.

I see that he's only played 1 game this year. What's up with him?

keep an eye on 97 forward Ethan Price. Portland does an amazing job of getting these high end US kids to play for them. Price looks to be another potential star like Bittner, Iverson, Texeria and Schoenborn.

Portland is turning into the USNDP part 2.

10 American kids on that squad this year.

You overhype American kids way too much. But Texeira is going to be a star and rocket up draft charts next year.

Why nothing more on this kid - last post was in 2013. Is there another thread?

Craig Button ranked Bittner 29th on his recent top 30 list.

Also listed on 2014 CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game.
