And that hietanen i would put home tickets to hes back pockets, wtf guy havent scored in like 3 years and still trying to shoot himself, and always hits the first dman. Hope he understands to just always pass to laine in the future.

Going offtopic but I must say, it wasn't his best game but he's pretty damn solid defender. Like many say NHL defender getting too good salary in KHL and refusing to leave KHL.

Ikr in the Belarus game I was shouting like wtf he is doing that's not his role. His role is give this kid the puck and watch. :yo:

Yeah, they're but game was over at 30 min or so. That's just how the coach wanted it to go. They also had lots of pk, he's not playing those.

Sure, but this has been the case in both games now, not just in this one.

Toronto is picking 1C no matter what.

I'm not so sure about that anymore. Someone said that Babcock would be a super -big fan of Laine. That, and if Toronto picks up Stamkos, plus a super showing from Laine here .... well, plenty of reasons for them to chose the elite scorer over the elite 1C

If the leafs got a verbal comittment behind the scenes from stamkos, and nylander is a centre long term, I could see them taking laine #1. However, no stamkos, means take matthews and make sure your #1 centre is locked up for at least 8 years.

Easy first 2 games, you can bet on him playing 17-18 mins min tomorrow unless usa is as poor as germany.

You play your best players 15+ mins, 15-20mins per game, depending on the game, not 13-14mins.

But what a horrible way by Sasha and Jussi to thank Jagr for teaching them everything.

Yeah, I don't know about that when the games in question are against much weaker opponents, your most important games are still ahead and you're Kari Jalonen thinking of how to play this kid that already played, what, 80+ games this season? I'd at least see how tomorrows game looks from that point before declaring Laine sheltered/3rd liner/whatever it is you're trying to argue here based on these two games.

At the very least, his P/60 is quite insane at this point due to that low playing time; 6p in 28:14 = 6p/1694s * 3600s = 12.75 P/60. Or, to put it the other way around, he has scored a point for every 4m42s he has been on the ice.

(Yes, I realize the sample is extremely small)

He reminds me more and more of Kovalchuk every time I watch him

With that skating and frame, I see more a Rick Nash with a Kovy shot.....pretty deadly combination. Laine's hockey IQ is not being talked about enough as well. Seeing that raw talent with those smarts is fun to watch.

Laine is clear cut above anyone else who has ever played hockey. It took him 2 games to beat Jagr's 26 year old record that took him 10 games to accomplish. If we assume that he doesn't improve from this point on he is still a lock to atleast 4000 career points and that's a modest estimation. :sarcasm:

I agree, what Laine has done in the previous months makes me think that there is two #1 OA level talents in this draft.

I'm pumped for tonight's FIN-USA game.

Our D is going to have hard time with the fast and skilled americans. It's great to see young guys like US team playing.

And the other way around, our PP will be murder for the US.

Over/Under 27.5 goals in his rookie campaign?

What is the multiplier and what company?

I think there's ~30% chance he goes over 27.5. Therefore I'd bet with over 3.0

The forecast is based on ass-feeling.
