How is Gusev’s skating? Remember Pronman saying it’s not very good for his size. Could be something that makes the transition difficult for him.
He's a former figure skater...

To be fair it could have been 99% done, but then Kings came in last minute with a better contract that Kovalchuk couldn't pass up (for a team that was at that moment in a better position for the playoffs, but we all know what happened after that).Eronko had Kovalchuk to the Rangers at 99% done last sommer. I don't think he is a 99% source.
I think in general Gusev is interested. It's more about VGK and GMGM than the general wish to go to the NHL next season.
His skating is pretty weak.. I don't think it matters if you were a figure skater or not, what matters is were you any good at it.
Just kick those stupid "rumours" in the bin. When his contract is over there is 10 days to WHC. That is where he will go.Rumor is that he's coming over at the end of April, once is KHL contract is over
Gusev is coming to give the Golden Knights the boost they need - TheHockeyNews
Just like Panarin and Radulov, heh?I honestly think he is a 50 pts guy in the NHL not even 60.
25-25 maybe but he has to come over first to prove me wrong haha
This aged poorly very fast. He's joining Vegas this weekend.Just kick those stupid "rumours" in the bin. When his contract is over there is 10 days to WHC. That is where he will go.
Vegas next season? Probably. Why not?

Last 3 seasons (in all competitions: KHL reg+p-o+international)
16-17: 41+72=113 +42 (1.23 ppg)
17-18: 38+63=101 +38 (1.17 ppg)
18-19: 26+75=101 +38 (1.28 ppg)

105 goals, 210 assists, 315 points, +118, (1.22 ppg)
Let that sink in for ya![]()
Same stats for Shipachyov in the 3 years prior to joining the NHL:
88 G, 220 A, 308 P, 1.19 PPG
Just because you produced in the KHL, doesn’t mean you can produce in the NHL. I think Gusev is better than Shipachyov but they have nearly identical production at the same levels prior to their move to the NHL. The stats really mean nothing when considering how a player will transition to a higher level.

Shipachev is actually pretty good and CAN produce in the NHL. He just didn't have the patience to work within Gallant's system and Vegas wasn't willing to gave him carte blanche.
NHL success is all about fitting within the system. No one cares how talented you are unless you demonstrate real chemistry on the ice and get along with others in the locker room.
I hope Gusev isn't expecting much because he's gonna get jerked around big time by Gallant for a good while. He's an outsider and Gallant will be loyal to the guys who busted their butts for him all season.
On the money as always.Just kick those stupid "rumours" in the bin. When his contract is over there is 10 days to WHC. That is where he will go.
