Knies skating is fine. Watching bits of last night's game and the summer series, the skating issues (there are none,IMO) are overblown.

disagree, also watched him and his skating felt below average. something to overcome and will never be a plus.

Well after just two games together on the same line he and Lucius should have swapped draft slots.

Pretty good. He had a strong WJSS, too, and if he continues his strong NCAA start, it'll be hard to leave him home. Team USA has pretty good depth options up front but they don't have a ton of top end shooters.

While I agree about Knies, I think we have some pretty good goal-scorers without having a Wahlstrom or Holtz type of player that can tee off from long distance.

Lucius and Coronato are both very good goal-scorers. They do it more from finding space in the offensive zone and good releases, but I would say they also shoot it pretty hard. Bordeleau has a very underrated shot, as does Samoskevich. Both guys don't score that many goals on shots because they are more playmakers or danglers, but they can shoot it. Smilanic has a pretty good shot, as well. Guys like Duke and Pastujov are two other guys that score goals, with Pastujov havng a big shot, but neither of those guys will likely be on the team. Goal-scoring is not my concern with this team.

Would slot in nicely next to Dvorsky and Chromiak, but nonetheless still looking forward to seeing him at WJC, even though it will be in USA gear. Could be in top 6 of lineup?

Not a bad night tonight.

That was a player that really excited me when we drafted him.

I've tended to shut up more and more as time has gone on...wasn't overly thrilled how we also seemed to go for 5'7-5'10 dudes...and lot of his picks look promising like Niemela etc so I figured, give it time, see how they pan out.

Knies immediately excited me, good combination of size and skill. I feel like there is a top 6 forward there.

Knies is perfect for the leafs and has first round potential
