Since Ritchie only played 7 games in the nhl this year, does that mean we won't be burning a year off his contract? I don't really remember the rules about that type of situation.

Oh nice. I think, or at least hope, he’s up with the nhl team next year. Best case he’s in a 3C role but I wouldn’t mind putting him at 2C early either
I mean, ideally I'd like him to get acclimated in the minors first, but our minors team is where players go to die, so...sure, throw him on the Island to avoid that at all costs.

FYI: #3 Boston University will be hosting a second round mathchup in the Hockey East tournament on March 15th. Looking forward to seeing how much Eiserman has matured since the World Juniors in December.

Greasy goals count the same

It's amazing how painfully unsure he can be about himself in the neutral & defensive zones, and how natural he is with his spacing offensively. It's way more usual for those instincts to be more general. (That is, players who space themselves well offensively also tend to have good general positional awareness. That's why defensive issues tend to be talked about in terms of commitment.)

Well, to be fair, he had 32 points last season (granted, in 62 games), so he's not exactly killing it in a league we'd hope he'd be killing it in.
Fair but for our usual 6th-7th rounders he actually seems to be developing as opposed to crashing out of hockey altogether. Got some nice write ups earlier this year from those who watch USHL (not me). College career upcoming to marinade further.

Our prospect pool doesn’t have much in the way of defenseman so I’m remaining hopeful
