He is on the official lineup, on the “second” line. Newhook is centring the “third” line and has 6 points (4 goals) in 9 games. He has 1 point after 9 games...so no points in 8 straight. What is going on here? Is he still playing C?
IMO Newhook is definitely the better player today. Boldy just has a really intriguing upside and toolsHe is on the official lineup, on the “second” line. Newhook is centring the “third” line and has 6 points (4 goals) in 9 games.
Likely still growing into his body, though. That curve was an obvious inevitability in the draft. Lots of time.

kaprizov is coming. Caufield might do absolutely nothing in the NHL. Boldy has a few years to be groomed at C we have time.Wild haven't had legit goal scorers for years.
Kaprizov will probably never show up in MN
Pass on Caufield
lmao
It really isn’t that hard to think before you postWild haven't had legit goal scorers for years.

Yeah there's really no guarantee on anyone especially after the first few picks. Boldy definitely has goalscoring upside in the NHL as wellkaprizov is coming. Caufield might do absolutely nothing in the NHL. Boldy has a few years to be groomed at C we have time.
he has as much as caufield does so until either makes it to the nhl ill keep my opinions rather quiet. not even a year since the draft.Yeah there's really no guarantee on anyone especially after the first few picks. Boldy definitely has goalscoring upside in the NHL as well
watching highlights and stat watching he seems decent on face offs, averaging what seems to be 4 or 5 shots a game you would think the luck will start rolling in shortly.![]()
One goal on 30 shots is usually a pretty good bet that the puck will eventually start going in. I caught their season opener against Wisconsin when Boldy got his goal. Thought he looked okay, my kneejerk thought was that I liked him at wing better than center but obviously it was just one game. BC was using its upperclassmen on the top PP unit while Boldy/Newhook were on the second unit.
If I recall correctly he was kind of a late-bloomer like always a pretty good player, I saw him a bit when he was 14/15 and he was talented but nowhere near what he got to be as a U18 NTDP guy where he was still more potential than realized ability in my opinion. I think he's just curving now maybe a 3 year college type who signs when he's ready, not in a rush. Hopefully1 point in 11 games, but he should still be able to lock down a scoring role for the WJC, one would think. I suspect that he’ll have a big tournament on what should be a medalling team and then ride that confidence into a productive second-half of his college season.
Boldy is the furthest away from his end-game upside of that whole group and college hockey is hard. That basically sums it up imoso what exactly happened to him? 1 point in 11 games is worse than 7th round pick production in NCAA.
Out of the big American players, Hughes, Turcotte, Caufield, and Zegras, I never would have thought Boldy was the weak link.
So refreshing to come in here and see ppl not freaking out so early in the kids D+1 year. Boldy is the real deal, wanted him over Podkolzin but not unhappy with ViPod either. I won't worry about this guy either, just not getting puck luck.
