US Hockey has been trying to outsmart everyone for years.

Look at their omissions from the 2014 Olympic Team.

Look at their omissions so far from the World Cup Team.

They keep shooting themselves in the foot for some reason. Just pick the best God damn players and let the lineup sort itself out.

Penn St. was and is in the Top 20. And they struggled to finish the season, they were playing much better hockey a couple months ago. If you're going to troll at least take the time to google PSU's ranking. Lazy.
 
Wish this thread wouldn't be used to constantly harp on the Bruins NOT drafting him. San Jose, Florida, Dallas and the Islanders passed on him too. It happens. To every team.

Obviously Jets fans are excited at the potential he is showing. He may be a legit 1st line winger in the NHL and has star potential.

I agree because it's obviously upsetting 2011 Stanley Cup so much that he is overcome with sour grapes that he is constantly making ridiculous and absurd posts that fail completely in diminishing Connor's accomplishments this season.
 
Definitely must suck to not pick Connor with one of three picks in a row. And what is worse is the 3 players the Bruins did pick couldn't pick up those kind of point playing double the games against kids that are 16 years old.
 
I can't think of a player doing more to impress in a tourney than what Connor did this weekend.

What a talent. That game tying goal late in the game. Wow, given the importance of the situation.

How about over a 36 game period instead?

Kyle Connor, a freshman, leads NCAA Div. 1 in both goals and points. The last freshman to score 30 was Vanek (31 in 02/03); Connor has put up 35 and has room left for more. Connor has destroyed Larkin's PPG from last season, is currently above Eichel's PPG from last year as well - and is within 2 points of his total in 4 fewer games-played.

I can sort of understand your fixation on the 3 game sample size though, given that Boston passed on selecting the guy that is easily the most dynamic goal-scorer in NCAA hockey at present... not once, not twice, but thrice.
 
I'm sure I won't be able to find a questionable 3 game stretch in any of those prospects seasons.
 
What's his weight at? I believe he was drafted at 175. 190 should be the goal for next season.

Only players in the last 25 years to put up a better PPG are:
Kariya D-1 '92-93
St. Louis D+2,3 '94-96
Brendan Morrison D+2,3,4 '94-97
Eric Perrin D+2 '95-96
Todd White D+3,4 '95-97
Gaudreau D+3 '13-14
Tedder Wynne D+4 '95-96
Brian Bonin D+4 '95-96
Jason Krog D+5 '98-99
Peter Sejna D+5 '02-03

So only Gaudreau and Sejna best him since the turn of the millennium, and they were in their draft + 3 and 5 seasons.

Kariya and Eichel are the only ones to be in the vicinity at an equal or younger age in that same timeframe, with Connor being .25PPG, .42PPG and .45PPG above the next best three scorers this year, and Kariya having been ahead by .07PPG, .45PPG and .53PPG over the next three best scorers in '92-93.

Eichel for a more recent comparison was .21PPG, .29PPG, and .32PPG better then the next competition last year
