Question about him. I saw a Bruins fan bring him up as the guy he wanted them to take and I immediately jumped and said "way too early". Bruins will be picking around 18-20, iirc.

So he played had 126 games played, before he had his breakout season. Owen Sound has some fire power already and it seemed he played a lot with Hancock (also 2017 eligible) and Palmu (leading scorer). Is he a product of playing with those two? Just looking at it that he didn't produce much until this season. What about his game, and lack of production (before this season) should really make him a mid 1st round caliber player?

He was the most improved player in the OHL this year...and that says a lot because there were a few guys making the big jump in numbers like him. Beyond the stats...his skating has improved as well.

He is a very hard worker, has a high hockey IQ, insane hand eye coordination, physical, etc. While he can also make plays he is more of a complimentary player. He can also kill penalties. It's a pretty impressive offering. I think most of his minutes were spent with Hancock and Suzuki so he certinly did benefit from playing with other talent...and vice versa. Hancock often shifted to left wing and bumped him down a line as well.

Playstyle is somewhat similar to Andrew Ladd and like those guys he can play on your top 3 lines with highly skilled players. I don't think he will score near as much as Ladd did in his peak years...but with his work ethic....who knows.

He will likely go in the early to mid 2nd round, but I'd take him ahead of Comtois, Popugaev, and Kostin without hesitation. I have him ranked 25 but I am no scout.

By all accounts Gadjovich really put the effort in this season to take his game to the next level. He teased at his talent and power forward game his first two seasons but this year he figured it all out, changed his attitude on and off the ice. It helps playing with Hancock and Suzuki but he dominated on his own at times.

He's definitely still working on his consistency as a goal scorer but the way he played from January on was no fluke.

I see him playing a lot like former Attacker Joel Ward in the pros. The kind of guy with a big, heavy game to grind teams out down low, and with just enough skill and scoring ability to play up and down the lineup when needed.

Description sounds more like Matthew Tkachuk to me.

Nice comparison with Latendresse didn't thought about it at first, seems fitting. I agree with the rankings too, despite his production I don't see all that much upside in his game, too much of a physical edge in junior with his fully mature body and is skating is worrisome.

The late birthday and explosion in his third year in the OHL scares me a bit too (in terms of not wanting to take him too high).

I mean it would be different if he was good in his 2nd year and 3rd year... but the crappy second year raises questions.

first comparison i thought of was Tom Wilson. But im not sure he's as "wreckless" as Wilson is. But frame, strong shot, good coordination, could work on skating, just sounds a lot like a less physical tom wilson. IMO.

Reminds me of something like a non-violent Lucic. With his older age and size, do not be surprised if he's making an impact on the Canucks before guys like Lind, Dahlen, Petterson, and Goldobin.

Love this pick. Could see him being the best power forward of this draft. Great work ethic, knows how to score in front of the net and has a high motor. If he improves his skating he's going to be an elite 3rd line power forward, possibly even a Top 6 winger.

This pick is going to come back to haunt the CBJ for years to come. Looks like Torts is on his way out and Gadjovich is looking more and more like a future stud.

This hurts as a CBJ fan... damn.

Question is were the bjs gonna draft him. It might have been someone else.

His numbers are down from last season, and while he appears to play a game perfectly suited for the NHL, he will have to improve his skating.

He could have a nice NHL future, but I don’t see how ‘Gadjovich is looking more and more like a future stud.’

The kid you guys took is 2nd in goals on his team in the Liiga as an 18 year old playing his first season.

Anyways, I’m happy to have Jonah...I’d love to see him improve his skating but that might not be likely at this point.

I see him hitting a wall once he turns pro. His skating is going to hinder his game, as it was noticeable even at the WJC he was a step behind at times. His production is down too when someone his size should be dominating this year - our board literally nicknamed him man-child.

Gadjovich won't turn out to be anything in the NHL I think.
