Yotes aren't trading Jenik.

The idea of keeping CHL linemates together in the NHL is great here on Hfboards but it doesn't really fly in the NHL.

Yeah, I was mostly joking in response to the previous poster. Kings have a number of quality center prospects in the system beyond Kopitar as well - Turcotte, Vilardi, Kupari, Anderson-Dolan, Thomas.

With that said, Jenik is tearing it up out there with and without Kaliyev, and vice versa.

This should have been mod-stickied in every thread before the 2016 draft of Leafs should trade 1st overall (Matthews) for Christian Dvorak, 7th overall pick (which would have been used to trade up for M. Tkachuk).

This and the fascination of re-uniting brothers who in most cases never played competitive hockey together due to age gaps astonishes me. But, it is two of the obsessions that will never die around here. I'm sure the Flyers loved trading JVR to re-unite the Schenn brothers, really helped Luke live up to his 5th overall billing.......

We've even seen it at the WJC. In 2010 they brought the whole Taylor Hall Windsor line only to break it up mid-tournament.

"Jan Jenik recorded two goals in a 6-4 victory against Mississauga on Friday night tying Alex DeBrincat, Connor McDavid & John Tavares for 3rd longest point streak in the OHL this century at 26." That's some pretty elite company...seems like he's got some sand to his game, too. Any NHL comparables?

He will get minutes and the goal is probably to attract attention from the Liiga teams.

Maybe, he should be at the stage where he can play in Liiga right away though, there are plenty of younger and less talented players playing Liiga.

Howcome?...

Mestis is often used as a ladder from Finland juniors to Liiga for youngsters to get a bit of pro experience but it's not a very strong league at all, especially not for someone like Jenik who is a pretty highly regarded [prospect.

Jenik is coming back from a serious knee injury. Looks like the plan is simply to use Mestis as a part of the recovery program before moving on to greater things.

Hopefully he gets back speed soon then if that indeed the plan

Long time with no updates on Jenik.

21 points in 24 games in the A. Anyone know how he has been playing? Any views on what ARI’s plan should be for this guy? He has had a couple cups of coffee in the NHL.

AZ are keeping him and Maccelli down in the AHL to get tons of minutes. If there's a couple trades at the NHL level he might end the year with the NHL team as Tucson isn't about to make the playoffs.

If the Coyotes see him as a LW, he's definitely behind Keller, Crouse and Ritchie on the depth chart. He'll battle Matias Maccelli, and maybe Ladd or a new cap dumps for the 4 LW spot.

If the Coyotes see him as a C, he might have more opportunity, but he'd be behind Hayton and would be in competition with Boyd (last season's 1C) and newly acquired McBain and Smith. It's also very possible that Chychrun is traded soon for a young C.

The roster is fluid. Jenik will have opportunity but he's going to have to earn his minutes.
