So we got him, Smith, Bahl, and I think one or two of the Russians to watch at WJC?
Päkkilä did not make to Finlands team :/
Unfortunately he's late 1999, so already 20.

Why did the announcer say "Hockey is a momentum game!" in English at 2:40. Is that an expression that Finns use in English like when we say "c'est la vie"?
Finns definitely use some English phrases, but "hockey is a momentum game" is more common due to one local former player-coach, turned tv commentator and hockey personality, Juhani "Tami" Tamminen, who used it quite frequently and is known for all kinds of quotes etc. He's basically Finnish version of Don Cherry. :sarcasm:

Not bad for 21 yo 4th liner! And on the left wing, we are not so well equipped. Pakkila will get his opportunity if he continues to develop and decides to try himself in America.

Not to put a damper on things but that may speak more to the state of Liiga than it does to Eetu's potential.

He's like eighth or ninth on the team in scoring and Ilves' leading scorer has 13 goals in 15 games.
Most of the scorers ahead of Eetu are average to long odds NHL prospects.

I don’t think that will translate completely, but he is good in points per minutes. Better to have this level of stats than not.
I agree that liiga isn’t on the same level as SHL.

he’s also played four games less than everyone else
At 15GP he could have 10-12 points
Similar to this dude on the same team

Not to say he can't be something, but Pakkila is nowhere near the prospect that Maccelli is at this point (and not just because Mattias is an Italian-Finn).

Maccelli just turned 20 and is already signed by Arizona. Eetu has yet to receive a contract. And with the prospect depth in New Jersey it is no sure thing that he will.

Nobody told me there'd be days like these...

Well is Maccelli a line in a Shakespeare play? Thou doth protest too much, methinks!
