Eliot Freidman says up to 20 teams have showed interest in him and the current series is being heavily scouted by NHL teams. My guess is guys like Dadonov and Shipachyov are also getting looks. Thikonov will probably land in Arizona again next year. Maybe Yudin is also being watched.

Weak player in terms of using his body. He won't do anything with the big boys.

Unbelievable passing, skill level, elusiveness. Backstrom is one of the softest players on the planet... and also one of the best. BTW in the PO ive seen Sipachyov throw a couple strong hits.

There will be WHC soon, so people will see Panarin - Shipachyov - Dadonov vs some good international competition. I hope for another Russia vs Canada game.

Another 2 goals for the line and 2 points for Panarin btw. And it's just after the 1st. Kovy 4+6 in 14 1/3 gp, Panarin 3+10 in 12 1/3 gp.

Finished with 2 goals and an assist today.

Hoping he does come over next season, even if it isn't with the Blues.

Panarin is good, watched him live in moscow in game 2 of the series.
The player that really impressed me was zaitsev though.

The whole line Panarin - Shipachyov - Dadonov looks ridiculous. 20 goals in 15 games combined (Panarin has played just 13 games). And 45 points combined. Would be interesting to see them as the line in the NHL.

But first WHC. I hope they will tear it up.

I'd like him in Montreal, but after what they did with Sekac (Therrien gave him almost no top 6 and PP time, the he gets traded months after signing here), guys over there will probably tell Bergevin to **** off.

How does panarin compare to moses or sekac? Any idea on how likely he is to translate his game to the NHL? Using NHLe, his point totals translated to NHL points is ~79 which is obviously too high but could he be a ~70 point guy?

Now that Zaitsev's season is done, any chance he comes over?

I don't know. Only ~20 70+ point players in the NHL this season.

Wow. What a choke job.

Just looking at that highlight real of Panarin scoring goals....maybe he does not have Johnny Hockey's hockey sense..BUT he has a far better shot...his shot is better than anyone I have seen on the Blackhawks which he now joins...His skating looks as good if not better than Gaidreau's and he certainly is shifter going around and through attempted checkers...So who cares if his hockey IQ is not as good as Gaudreau...the fact is he is a dangerous goal scorer because of that wicked shot and release and the ability to skate to open spots to get it off...TT (Teuvo Teravainen) has skill and good hockey sense and look at all the raving about him...yet he does not have either the dangle moves of Panarin or as good a shot...If this guy gets his shot off in open space that he can get to then it is goodbye to the goalies..they will be beat.Now...like any small skill guy...questions abound about eliminating him by hitting and whether physically he can survive the 82 game grind without injury..but That is always a risk with small talented guys...Kane survived injury until the last 2 years when injuries did force him to miss games in the regular season...Maybe Gaudreau will get injured too at some points in his career and miss games..So it is always a risk with smaller guys...but you just need to watch the highlight reels of this guy scoring to see how good he is...when you are that athletically fast and can skate to open space to release a terrific shot like he has ...you do not need much hockey IQ to succeed..just beat slower less agile guys one on one

.get your shot off..beat goalies...and celebrate the goals..

NOW ...The other aspect is defending...Coach Q will bench him unless he is at least not so horrible in that aspect. ..Kane came in and was not very good defensively but got better...though still not that good...ands he got more nhl experience...but Panarin is 23 not 18 and has played men in the KHL for several years now ..and so he probably can be as "good enough" as Kane is defensively for Q to live with it...helped by linemates who will cover somewhat for Panarin's defensive flaws ...IF the kid starts piloting up the goals with regularity.

The last argument against him succeeding in Chicago is that you cannot play 3 shrimps on a line...The suggested Panarin TT Kane line would obviously get pushed around...So where will he play? IF Y you third line him and do not give him PP time with that great shot of his...you waste the potential...Is it time to move old man Hossa (37 next season) off line #1 and down to line #3? THAT COULD BE THE ISSUE for next pre-season to be determined.

Palat 6'0'', 190
Johnson 5'8'' 183
Kucherov 5'11'' 184

Of course TBL trio is heavier, but not that much.

Panarin clearly wanted to go to one of the greater American metropolises, because leaving St. Petersburgh and the big bucks in the KHL required some incentivizing. I think his list included no more than five teams.

Big bucks in Russia is declining big bucks. Ruble isnt doing very well. Kovalchuck left a LOT of money on the table going back home.

Nonetheless, the Hawks and fans are extremely happy he chose Chicago.

Friedman said in his 30 thoughts that Calgary came closest, so I doubt that was his reasoning.

He wanted to go to a team with a track record of giving smaller players opportunity, Chicago has that.

Pretty sure they're paid in dollars.
