Simple plays, simple reads, has them mastered.

The 2 bad things you can say about him is his 1st step and he might not have as much upside as he is ahead of the curve on physical maturity.

His first step is very good, way above average.

Not just the 2 goals, his all around play today has been very good, he has been creative, looks like he has gotten stronger and his defensive play has been very solid.

For Russians maybe , not nearly as big of an issue these days for Swedes and Finns.
Perhaps but i dont care being selected first overall in the draft is overrated anyway just media hype what matters is what happens after the draft...

Ahead of 25-30 year old professional hockey players? Not sure if serious.

When projecting vs his peers for one and yes, his maturity matters against men as well.

Most draft eligibles would kill to have his H/W ratio before the draft, Holtz is at that point(or better) 10 months out. When Holtz rolls into the combine at 6’ & 187lbs he’ll have mass comprable to the average 20yr old player. Today he played a team that has Elias Pettersson’s brother and outweighs him by 9lbs even though he’s 7 years younger and 2” shorter.

Luckily his play isn’t predicated on him using his size.

And byfield is 6'4 and 220 lbs. Your point?

1st step is an old issue(even then it wasn't really an issue, more that it was his biggest flaw). He was ahead of the curve yes, but as you mentioned later: he doesn't rely on his physicality so not a bad thing, it's not something to be counted towards determining upside.

Its more about the stupid comments like ”Ah h*ll naw, he wouldnt be able to do that shit in the NHL!” or “That defense is atrocious, that’s the only reason that was a goal” that usually some NA-posters like to use when discussing EU-players and EU-leagues. Just look at the Whiskey-guy in this thread for example. He’s the same in every thread, just talking nonsense while trying to back it up with some profound “facts”.

He reminds me of Boeser. Going to be a regular 30 goal scorer. The rest of his game is probably only a little above average, but he’ll be paid to score goals and he will.

Holtz has just signed a 3 year contract with Djurgården. Good that he keeps his focus on his development and doesn't think too much about the NHL. Now obviously, all of these none KHL contracts have NHL clauses in them, but still.
