Can we at least scratch getting bullied, playing with a bully, not getting the best line mates and 4 Nations will give him a shot of confidence off the 40 excuses bingo card.

Now he's playing bad because of his knee, when he was bad since 2 months prior to his new contract.

People are willing to wait a few months just to see what he'll be like with a better off-season, by then he's already locked in forever as a Canuck.

I think it's fair to call an injury that has resulted in 0 missed games/missed practices/not even sitting Game 82 last year when all the injured players were rested 'minor'. The player has said it's causing zero pain. The team has repeatedly minimalized any potential impact. It's obviously not some sort of 'major' injury.

Per the bolded, only Pettersson, JT Miller (lol), and Filip Forsberg (Pettersson's winger) would be considered 'star-level' players who went pointless. But hey, don't include it if you want. Pettersson's performances this year have still been consistently *awful* except for the 15-game run around the time of the Miller absence.

Well you believing in the Canucks medical, when Demko’s minor injuries more than once has lead to multiple months out, when Quin Hughes was supposed to to be day to day or possibly ready for the 4 nations has been out for over a month, even Pettersson who was supposedly healthy came back and was suddenly day to day. And that isn’t to mention the other multiple player who have publicly complained or Hronek. But again I also don’t think injury is the full story on why Pettersson has been bad, and again he has been bad.

My issue is framing things purposely to exaggerate how bad a player has been when yes he has been bad and you don’t need to exaggerate to show it. Hell saying he has barely out produced Joshua would do it instead of trying to badly include fortbort. Or coming up with numbers to exclude his only good period in a calendar year.

For the third or fourth time. Petey has been bad. Find me one person who disagrees. But to exaggerate numbers or whatever is just a bad faith argument.

Last night, Peterson was fine…. And don’t get me wrong I would expect much better than fine from him, but he didn’t hurt us. He wasn’t the worst player out there. I am not trying to say anything positive about his play, it was just adequate. And if you wanted to compare that to where he should be absolutely fine and even fair to then come into the bad territory. He has been bad, there is just no need to try and exaggerate it. It makes it look bias.

He is the starter now. He should is expected to carry the heavy starters load. As for the play-offs, if they want to get there they will need to ride him hard with Demko constantly injured. Not that it matters the team is first round fodder. IMHO finding out where they stand going into next year is far more important.
Let's see, he's played 35 games already this year and his career high is 37 in a season; add the playoffs and hell be way over his career high. You are suggesting he play back to back road games in February?

Hardly. That's the job of a backup even under heavy load.
