Hockey player train just as hard as many olympians (and a lot of olympians of the new sports are athlete that did not succeed a high level in their childhood sport and turn on a sport that can bring them on the olympics I agree).

But saying that Smith deserve is gold medal as much as Price or the guy winning the 50 km cross country skiing is a bit ridiculous, is like saying that if they had to choose 20 player's to give medals too, that should have use a random way to decide to give it to who between Price and Smith, because they are no way to determine who deserved it more (hard to believe that anyone frankly think that).

Well and that sense ok, it is more sensible than being equaly deserving, but is still arguable, with what percentage of human in the whole world playing as Canada third goaltender would they have lost ? Not a lot of them IMO.

With Canada's depth there are lots of excellent players who don't make the team or hardly play if they make it. The players were not unfairly treated!
