Helly played good but that first goal was a momentum killer , he has to make that save . The Jets out played the Rangers and should have won so at least it was a better effort than that St.Louis game . Didn't care for Myers game again though , time to move Buff up with Morrissey until Trouba is back .

Ok Scheif and Wheeler look better, let's try LSW again for more than two periods. Any idiot knows that is not enough of a sample size.

Best scoring chance in this game was offered to us by Scheif and Laine. What a pass from Chef.

I want my powerhouse back! ELL version is good too, but it ain't no powerhouse. We should have won this game against a decimated team even with this effort, but this is clearly not all we can be.

Him, Wheeler and Perreault seem to be the only guys in the team who understand that you gotta get the puck to Patty on the Ozone when possible. Even Maurice said that Patty shouldn't think about passing when he has the puck.

He is the best finisher on the team, give him a chance to finish a play.

I'd have given Roslo a crack at center already. He is smart defensively as far as I can see. At least let him play 4C if you are going to play him there.

I was at the game, a rare treat for me. I was in section 124 way down in the corner - great views of the game.

Obvious:

- The first period was outstanding
- Sad to see that first goal called back.
- The second period was a massive snooze

Not so obvious:

- I never realized how physically huge Nash is.
- Lundquist's rebound control was otherworldly.

Lundquist tightened up and was amazing. It may well have been 3 or 4 - 0 in the first. An incredibly frustrating game to watch. The tipped goal in the third was agonizing, as was the high stick goal in the third. ... the barn erupts and the zebras quash the party. Again.

I was at the game too , best seats I've ever had , Bud zone row 3right behind the net great view . Made watching them lose all that much harder , hopefully they destroy Washington .

Pretty early to start panicking, but the Jets had the chances in the 1st to put it away. Also had enough chances in the game to win more often than not.

My frustration being at the game is that it feels like the obstruction call has been thrown away.

On to the Caps and hopefully a win.

No but losing multiple in a row is how you find yourself on the outside looking in pretty quickly. This isn't the Atlantic where we can lose 5 in a row and it doesn't really matter. A losing streak is what could make or break this season. We have to win or at least get a point every other game.
This is what I was talking about when I saw the Avs starting to slip. If they slip down to where Chicago is then the Jets are fine. It was different when they went 12-2 but things have changed since then.

Also, if you or anybody wants to critsize the Jerts after a loss- go right ahead. Thats what the board is for- to solicit all kinds of input. Im not going to accuse you of saying "the sky is falling". That just stifles the conversation IMO.

I think the lack of caring is even more hilarious. Hope the team isn't thinking the same way some Jets fans are. It's only one game and only one loss we don't have to worry about anything. Easy as pie. Help us all if that is their mindset.
Yeah, I'm sure the Jets have the same mindset as fans on a message board, if they do I hope it's not the one of sheer panic you seem to possess.

Teams lose, deal with it, they do.

You keep putting yourself into positions to win like yesterday and wins will come. They've been doing it all season, it amazes me that people think the team is just going to fall off a cliff. They put up nearly 40 shots and lost a 2-1 game, that isn't going to happen all that often.

We do need Lowry’s size and physical play in our lineup. We also can use another Lowry.

Tanev helps with physicality but he’s such a black hole offensively it’s frustrating to watch him in the ozone.

Naturally nobody likes to lose.
I was struck how quickly we got away from the fast start.
We exerted our will and then rolled over. I’ll give the Rangers credit they clogged up the middle but still.... we stopped skating in the second.
If not for Henrik it’s 3-0 after the first.
It’s amazing that’s the first back to back loss at home , what a great record.
Maurice simply has to make adjustments or have these guys ready to play a full 60.
Some other poster mentioned a time out might have been called for in the second... I agree ....that was a throw away period.
Not overly concerned I’d just rather not have this team feel too comfortable.

My biggest concern isn't falling of a cliff, it's missing the mark by a little bit here and there due to less than stellar coaching. Come playoff time, those small coaching errors can make or break seeing round 2 or 3 or final and a first round exit.

I hope you're not expecting a deep run with such an inexperienced team.

Agreed on Myers, I thought he was terribly indecisive with the puck and ruined the flow a number of times. His passing was off to a large degree as well.

Lol to those who those who think Buff can't lead the rush on the PP, he was miles better than Myers yesterday, and usually is. Wheeler was much better yesterday but again forced low percentage plays that lost possession, for as great as he is, he's frustrating to watch at times.

Laine was decent but his game needs more urgency, his movements are just too slow in certain situations. Does Ehlers ever support the puck along the wall from the right side? He ended up on the wrong side of the puck yesterday I lost count. Little needs to be better, not that he was bad but they need more from him.

Overall they played pretty solid in the areas they have been and need to continue to be. They controlled the game, missed too many grade A chances in the first, fell into the Rangers passive game in the second and found themselves goalied. If they continue with that type of game they'll win more than they lose, just a bit more finish.

Can't play 40 minutes and expect to win or say you were goalied. That second period was pretty embarrassing. Oh well, on to the next one.
The Rangers played about 15 minutes yesterday, should they have expected to win? Most of their game was embarrassing, never mind just one period. When you put up 38 shots, many in prime locations, give up less than 30 and lose 2-1, you can say you were goalied.

I don't think anyone is 'panicking'. It's just disconcerting to see your team lose focus in a game that they could have done better in, in a division that has teams separated by only a few points.

I understand that we aren't going to win every game, but this is what people come here to discuss. I'm not sure anyone has to simply 'deal with it' or else this would be a pretty boring place.
