Lundqvist - Two Weak Games, Bounce Back Buddy

Best performance of the season last night.

He'll hit #1 in wins and shutouts in no time.

He'll be a finalist, maybe even for the Hart when you consider how poor an offense he had to support him for 3/4 of the season.

Im concerned he said he was tired. He must be.

After the Toronto game, the Rangers dont travel much. In a 10-day span they go to Philly and thats it. Hope that helps him.

It is a concern, largely because I remember Hank's best stretches of performances happening right before he drops off a bit from fatigue, as though he does best when he is running purely on adrenaline.

Could be wrong, but we don't really have a choice to rest him. We need to keep winning games and try to land in that #6 spot. No room for error.

When I was listening to XM NHL Radio last week and they were discussing Vezinas candidates they ran through about 8 names and never even mentioned Lundqvist.

I believe that he just so good that other people just assume he's playing well and just take his game for granted. Guys who have that one special year tend to get looked at, guys who are consistently great don't. Last year he was simply so great that they couldn't overlook him though there was a ground swell for Quick and many still think Quick should have won.

It's amazing to me that in every year of his career, he has been top 6 in Vezina voting(finalist 4 times)and he will be again this year.......such a consistently great goaltender.

Well said.

Which goalie has had the consistency and the workload year in year out?

He's the best. It's criminal that he does not get the credit he deserves.

he also does this in the east which is higher scoring and the 2 lowest scoring teams in the east are us and the devils which we still have 2 games left against. when u think of it thats 6-7 games where a goalie could pad his stats that henke hasnt gotten the opportunity to do.

Idc if he does or not. As long as he plays to the best of his abilities that's all that counts. Would it be nice if he won it,yeah of course. But as a Rangers fan my concern is not shut outs or the Verona but making the playoffs and moving fwd. that should be everyone's concern. A healthy and steady like always Henke

But obviously plenty of other fans do so I'm not getting your point...If you don't care about this why would you post as if we'd care that you don't care...?

Bunch of HF posters cheer for their fav player

You come in "Who cares?"

Lol

Also why SHOULD that be everyones concern? Can't we have multiple things that we root for?

He's probably the best athlete I've seen don a New York jersey outside of Jeter and Eli Manning.

I'd like to think I'm not forgetting anyone important. If I am, please don't kill me.

You missed out.

So I've been told. My opinion of Hank holds true to me because of my age. If I was to compare it to my Dad's opinion, he drops further down after names like Messier, Leetch, Richter and Lawrence Taylor.

I suppose I could add Strahan to my list. I think Hank is in some good company and will easily top it at the end of his career.

Definitely not arguing with you there. I think when it all comes down to it, Lundqvist will be known as the best Rangers goalie ever. He's already on track to shatter Mike Richter's records in much less games played. He needs a cup though. He's someone who deserves it.

I would say Hank has had both bad bounces and bad goals against him. His own luck has not seen it fit to have a game devoid of both. Hopefully that gets corrected soon.

Yep. Consistency is the key, here.

We can always rely on Hank to be great.

He's the best goalie in the league, has been for the past few years, and it hasn't been close.

To further prove my point, I had no idea Hank's stats were as good as they were compared to others in the league. I just take for granted that Hank will be a top 3-5 goalie any given year stats wise.

If he's not a Vezina finalist it's a joke. He's played 6 games more than Tuukka and more than 10 over everybody else above him in save % and GAA.

We're spoiled to have such a hall of fame talent play night in and night out.

Frankly, If Hank had not let in some bad goals over the course of the year and had some better luck, he'd probably be near the league lead in shutouts and the runaway front runner for the Vezina.
