Did we just become best friends!!! Lol
Yep!

Don't forget that the Oilers paid a 2nd for kulak.. then extended for 4 years.
A 2nd is probably fair with the extension. But he didn't have the extension until after, so Holland did overpay. He has repeatedly overpaid for depth players with 2nd round picks, so I guess if you're going to get a 2nd, Holland is probably the guy to go to get it.

Some Oilers fan is whining at me they won’t trade that much. Well… ok. But someone else likely will.

Oilers don’t really look like a playoff team anyway. Schenn doesn’t make them one. They’d need to make a bigger deal for a more critical piece.

Rental or not, Schenn wouldn’t be moved within the division. Also highly unlikely that we don’t try to re-sign our only bargain defenceman that pairs extremely well with Hughes
I'm sure Schenns agent also knows he is in high demand so he won't be a bargain again next year.
The Canucks are idiots if they don't take the best offer possible. Period.
Oh, wait.....

He likely gets a raise. But it won’t be substantial

2nd or a 3rd is fair but since the Canucks can barely develop 1st round picks it’s better we just keep him.

I think he will be able to fetch a 2nd or maybe a little more under the right circumstances. His cap will allow him to fit on any team. Big and physical and playing well this year.
