They have ridiculous depth at D so they should be able to handle without him for the first two months but yeah that really sucks.

So easy to tear something working out.

Seamus Casey get an NHL look?

Doubtful unless he is unreal this preseason and even then you still have Hamilton, Pesce, Nemec and Kovacevic ahead of him on the right side with DeSimone also in the mix.

Luke being out opens up more of an opportunity for Hatakka or Zboril to grab a spot on the opening roster.

Yeah forgot about Kovacevic just likely improves the odds of a Zboril signing

Nemec also slammed into the boards really hard during the Olympic qualifiers two weeks ago. No word on the extent of his injury yet either.

It’s getting really, really old for us Devils fans.

Players are pushed too hard to stay engaged 12 months of the year. Preseason injuries used to be a rarity unless someone was in a car accident or something. Now these guys are finishing the season in mid June, working out for 3 months, and jumping right back into training camps by mid September. Prospects have it even worse with summer tourneys and development camps.

It’s over-intensive and no surprise that people’s bodies break down as a result.
