You can sign him for nothing in a year and a half, or maybe even claim him off Waivers before then. You have to hide and bury him on your 4th line just for him to plausibly exist and provide some 4th line level offense, but he also doesn't PK or do other normal 4th line stuff good.
If the prospect of a winger that is the 12th highest scorer on the 28th highest scoring team excites you, he's there for a 2nd round pick. Once we start getting closer to an actual value, Hawks probably just ride out the contract and hope something comes together.
