Lucic vs Reaves

this is a good assessment. Lucic has KO power. Another guy who has major KO power and the hand size to match is Xhekaj.
Reaves is a great fighter but the tends to flail wildly and overwhelm guys

Xhekaj's technique isn't refined yet but he's so strong it's caught the other guy off guard many times. Kid is a promising player on top of the physicality.

agreed, and anyone who downplayed what he did last year, is just a troll. He was voted toughest player in OHL, and took on multiple heavyweights last year. Reminded me of Lucic's first year where he fought everyone.
I agree he needs to refine his fighting skills as he's just so strong with a fuse loose - and his fights are all offence. It overwhelms most guys, but some of the skilled heavies know how to tie him up.
He'll learn, he's only 22.
Back to Looch, his strength and power overmatch Reaves imo

Lucic ducks the best fighters in the league, always has

Wouldn’t fight Laraque, won’t fight Reaves
Hahahahahaha

Remember when he literally ran away from Colton Orr and hid behind the ref mid fight? Now THAT was laughable
Guy got his nose smashed in by the hardest hitting enforcer of the last 20 years. What a terrible take.

How much skill and technique is actually involved in hockey fights? With two guys standing right infront of each other and holding onto each other how much can you really do two overcome physical advantages like reach, power, speed, ability to take a punch?

More skill and technique than you will probably ever understand.

Watch a guy like Shawn Thornton fight guys who should realistically kill him. Thornton, Langdon, Boulton, guys like that who were undersized against the big heavyweights seemed to always fare well because they could tie them up and pick their punches very well.

If you watch Thornton vs Laraque, he tends to do very, very well against him.

To be clear I wasn't trying to be dismissive, it was an honest question.

Correct he got his ass beat and then ran
Went toe to toe with the best fighter in the league at the time. While playing on the first line. While being an effective power forward.

He backed away because his nose exploded, he didn’t “run away” they separated and he backed off.

What a weird, weird take. Why are people like this?
