Lucas Raymond, 19 years old, 22 points in 24 games

What are the odds of him making Team Sweden come Feb you think? If he keeps it up I'm sure it can't hurt to have another offensive weapon in their toolset

his only chance to make it is if he keeps spitting in points til feb, and he would still only be on 4th line or 13, 14 th forward. same goes for eklund

Near 0% chance

I don’t think talent wise he’d beat out the impressive depth Sweden has, and even if he could, the Olympics tend to favor veterans

But just because he won’t make team Sweden that doesn’t take away from the very impressive rookie start he’s stitched together

Looking good. Flower is really bad though.

Dude's heart is not in it.

He is playing the Hawks son. Pump the breaks a little. You could score one from the couch vs this version of the Hawks.

I'm kidding. He is going to be a great player. Yzerman knows.

Nobody get mad at me for asking, but what race is he? I know he's from Sweden, but his Dad is from France. Is he mixed?

1 more center for the Wings and their rebuild probably looks to end in the next 2 years.

It definitely looks that way, top center is hard to come by though. This year it looks like 7 centers could go top ten right now, so if they can get a top 5 pick they should be able to land one.

Could be the homer in me but I would not trade him straight up for any of the big 3 taken ahead of him

I wouldnt be surprised if any of the three taken ahead of him are actually better than him going forward, but Raymond is clearly good enough to belong with that group it seems like. Those teams wouldnt trade for Raymond straight up either I dont think, you could end up looking stupid by doing that.
