I hear people saying the NHL needs to pause the season....and do what exactly? Let's say they stay home for a month? When they come back they are going to give it to each other then.

They need to determine that NHL is priority and suspend the waiver-call up rules. If you need NHL players, call them up from the AHL. Free of the fear of waiver claims. Call them up, send them down, maneuver the personnel around. Allow OHL/WHL/QMJHL call ups if need be to stop gap COVID lists.

They can't put the season on pause. Cancel it or get creative with roster moves. Establish the priority league as the NHL and go from there.

But the only thing that matters is deaths and hospitalizations. If it's not putting you in the hospital it's no longer a big deal. Eradicating it is impossible.

You could still spread it to others who are not vaccinated who in turn end up dying and going to the hospital. It’s almost as if there should be a program asking people to get vaccinated.

That's on them. It's impossible not to be aware of the vaccine. If you're not getting it, it's completely up to you and no one else should be held hostage for it.
