I really lucked out by being recommended this pool hall. They have pros there all the time, even though I never took advantage of their coaching lessons. But just watching them play is unreal.Damn...Look out, Johnny Archer!!!
Yikes. That makes the snake in my pool area look friendly in comparison.Caught sight of another one today.

$400, Holdem. World Series of Poker Circuit tour out in Cherokee, NC. They host four tournament series a year which is nice as it is only a 2.5 hour drive from my house and is up in the mountains.Oh nice. What was the game and buy-in?
The not olympic handball is absurdly fun.Absolutely this. The only sport I was good at as a kid was handball (NYC handball, not the Olympic sport) so there weren’t really leagues or anything.
Playing pool competitively is one of the best things I’ve ever signed up for.
I watched some YouTube video a while back where this Koala was in a construction site around electrical equipment and the Aussie worker had to get him in a bin or barrel to take him to safety. It was dangerous for sure as he didn’t like going in there.Caught sight of another one today.

Nice. Ever go out to Vegas and play?$400, Holdem. World Series of Poker Circuit tour out in Cherokee, NC. They host four tournament series a year which is nice as it is only a 2.5 hour drive from my house and is up in the mountains.
I have not. It's tough to find the time, having young kids. I've been wanting to go play the $1,500 and $5,000 PLO events. That's really where I make most of my money. I'm competent at holdem, but I don't have hours to spend studying spots and going deep into solver work.Nice. Ever go out to Vegas and play?
During Covid, I used to play online every night against these guys that used to play in quite a few WSOP tournaments in Vegas. I used to play online a lot back in the day and I was the best in my home games, but these guys were really good. So aggressive. It definitely got me to improve my game after a while, but I rarely play these days though.

Omaha is entirely different. To me, it's what holdem used to be 15 years ago... fun.
I had my teeth "laser" whitened in a dentists office about 9 years ago. No idea of the proper name for the procedure but it really worked well.Have any of you had Zoom Teeth Whitening or an equivalent in a dentist office? Any thoughts?
Any bad effects afterwards? Any pain? Thanks a bunch.I had my teeth "laser" whitened in a dentists office about 9 years ago. No idea of the proper name for the procedure but it really worked well.
Of course since I drink red wine by the gallon, I'll need to do it again at some point soon.
None. Go for it.Any bad effects afterwards? Any pain? Thanks a bunch.
Had Zoom done today. Not pleasant but not the end of the world. Lots of "zingers".I had my teeth "laser" whitened in a dentists office about 9 years ago. No idea of the proper name for the procedure but it really worked well.

The selling process is stressful. Especially if you ever sell when you have young children. It’s hard to keep the house in a state of being immaculate for showings and the worst is when you spend a few hours getting it immaculate (picking up all the kids toys, etc.) and thenyou leave the house and the showing people & realtor don’t show up.Any homeowners here? I'm thinking of moving and while I try to keep my house as new as possible its almost impossible. I would like it to be as close to perfect as possible before sale but the list of stuff to fix is getting longer ugh.

Your reward for selling is the moving process which is even worse. There is no industry full of more shady people than the moving industry. It’s a story for another day but we had our belongings held ransom for 3 months on a cross country move by a moving broker / company that was likely one that the Russian mafia has its tendrils in.
We got most of it, but lost family pictures and stuff you can’t replace.
Do your research when you move. There are bad people in that industry. Some examples:

Where ya heading? Staying in Florida? Thanks. I did sell a house and move out of state previously. I tried to make it as easy a sale as possible but it was a different market back then. I was able to get the house sold in 5 days back then. I did not use movers except for my car. This time I may use movers. Depends on where I move if its worth it.
I feel I have around 5 somewhat minor repairs which is not the end of the world. Most I can do myself. 1 I may need some help from outside to do. Will probably sell 1 of my cars before moving as well.
That is the $64,000 question. TX? NC? TN? CT? MT? SD? Long Island? Hard to know where would be a good fit.Where ya heading? Staying in Florida?
I live in CT. Just like everywhere it's got plenty of positives & negatives. All depends what your priorities are. Cost of living & taxes aren't great here. Not Long Island bad, but not great either. That is the $64,000 question. TX? NC? TN? CT? MT? SD? Long Island? Hard to know where would be a good fit.
Ill be visiting CT soon. It has some very nice scenery which I enjoy. I could live with the higher taxes but not sure I'd enjoy winters. I like 65-95 year roundI live in CT.
