I know people that make fun of Baseball, the NHL, Soccer, and the WNBA. It is quite possible I'm missing something but I have to ask is it worth fighting over? People have different tastes.

"Mod Note: there is a zero tolerance for political talk here. It will earn you an instant, lifetime ban from the thread. Also, spare me the "I didn't know that was political". Yes you did.

This thread should be about fun, cool, interesting things or supporting one another". @Gardner McKay

100% agreed! Also, let's respect our Global mods & HF policy and not make or reply to political or sports posts in this thread.

It wasn’t a comment about you - it was exactly how I feel about the WNBA and the fact that you like it is utterly irrelevant. You hate NHL players that I love and have no problem talking shit about them. You don’t need to spare us your opinion of players because other people like them; I don’t need to withhold my opinion on the WNBA just because you’re a fan of it. Feel free to disagree. It’s still exactly how I feel about the league and Reese and there’s no reason that I would change my opinion because someone I know feels differently. I didn’t decide to dislike it to hurt you. I can’t stand her, and I think the quality of play in the league is laughable. That’s not an attack on machinehead. Someone may have made it about you by tagging you, but I just responded with my own feelings on the sport. Take issue with whoever tagged you. I don’t even remember the post. I just clicked into a thread I post in regularly and saw mention of WNBA and expressed my feelings.
If Angel Reese was actually good at basketball, and she isn't, the WNBA could be entertaining.

There uhh... was some banter yesterday. It has been wiped from existence. Not by yours truly of course, but a moderator far superior to myself.

Anyway, if anyone knows a place with a need for an HR professional (senior level but I'd take mid given the circumstances) please let me know. I can only do remote or DC metro area.

I'm sorry to hear that. If we were open to remote employees, I'd happily throw you a referral to my organization. Coming up on 15 years in HR. My how time flies.

Hopefully, you have a good attorney and your former employer is scared into offering you a decent severance.

Are we for real shitting on the WNBA AND their fans??? I’m here for it.

I’m sorry I missed the wipes out posts from yesterday, would have been a fun read.

No. I wouldn't. Because as a hockey fan, I know the feeling of loving a game that the rest of the country doesn't appreciate. From a product standpoint, I think the WNBA has made major strides and really done a great job of using Caitlin Clark and her success to their advantage.

My comment was more specifically directed fake rivalry created between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese and Angel can't hold Caitlin's.... idk what the correct substitution of jockstrap would be for this saying to work

Do I watch any WNBA? No. I barely have time as it is to watch the Rangers. But there are certain things I appreciate about that league, most of which I cannot discuss here as it goes down the dark and stormy hole of potential political talk. So if anyone is really that interested to here what have to say, I guess you can PM me

I don't mean to offend anyone but making fun of the NHL, Soccer, Or WNBA os such small potatoes in my opinion.

My 2 cents. People have real problems in this thread and the world. Financial issues, health issues, family issues are real problems. People could make jokes about the NHL all the time and I would not care. I would not fight over some NHL or WNBA jokes. It is not worth getting too upset over. I have never watched a WNBA game but I have nothing against them. Caitlen looks like the real deal in many ways via clips I have seen. With that said maybe they deserve some jokes coming their way just like the NHL and Soccer have jokes thrown there way. So does the NFL. At least they are getting some attention via the jokes. Bottom line is there are much bigger things in life to worry about in my opinion. :)

After 30 years my wife broke my spirit. She hoards non-RX medicines and toiletries. On the 10th she put so much weight in the medicine cabinet that it fell off the wall. She decided that it was my fault somehow and went on a laundry strike. She wouldn't do any or show me how to use the settings. I was very sick yesterday and had been free balling for a week. There was only a thin layer of gabardine between me and you. :scared:😱 😨 Spirit broken, I apologized for my "crimes". The strike was over.

Doing laundry isnt brain surgery. Pick color or whites on the washing machine. Put detergent in and then clothes. On the dryer pick cottons or poly. Put a dryer sheet in and clothes.

Sorry you are sick. 🙁

Thx. Although my story is 100% true, sorry if it wasn't funny. You may be better off not having been married to the same woman for the last 30 years. ;)

Lost in the pool finals. It was still really fun. Can’t wait until the next season in a couple weeks.
Congrats on your progress!

I'm hoping to do a WCA speed cubing event this summer.

At the most recent New York City event, with about a normal time that I do, I would have finished 32nd out of 40 cubers.

It's kind of depressing, but at the same time, I have a chance to go and not finish last in a highest-level competition.

It should be fun.

There is something really rewarding about competing at a very high level, even if you don't win. It drives you to improve and continue to get better.

I remember the first time I made the money in a World Series of Poker event. I was elated.

I didn't know that about you!

Poker is very f***in cool. Love that cat and mouse game. I'm halfway presentable on the computer but I could never do it in-person. I'm a smirker.

Absolutely this. The only sport I was good at as a kid was handball (NYC handball, not the Olympic sport) so there weren’t really leagues or anything.

Playing pool competitively is one of the best things I’ve ever signed up for.
