Many moons ago I went on a surfing trip to Tobago. Beautiful place, laid back with nice people. I've also known a few people from T&T and they were all very easy to get along with.
In a weird coincidence the country & I were born on the same exact date.
If anyone is interested in an alternate to stocks for long term investment, consider objects with innate value that, barring damage, typically increase over time. The greater the consensus on that object's innateness, the higher the market value that may be expected.

Thanks. My wife has a good job with good benefits and all that but I was still pulling in like 2/3 of our income. A lot of the jobs I see, I would totally take just to have something, but thinking about the lost income, it makes me want to cry. As does the "what if this take a while" fear...like I have money in savings and other accounts but holy f*** if I have to start blowing through what I've worked hard to build up, I don't even know.
All of that is totally understandable. Money stress and the unknown factor is a big deal. I'm confident if you really go hard to find something else you will find it. Many years ago I wrote down like 20 places to contact on the back of an envelope. I told my mom until I find a new job I'm making finding a job my full time job. Soon after I had multiple offers. You will find something but I'm sorry how things went down.
Well the bake thing I know of but I've never done it. Outside of a trying a beer (or two) and a cigarette (or two) as a young kid I haven't done anything. Agreed. As we age our metabolism slows down as does our healing factor. This may only be me, but I've lost all pissing power. If it takes 59 seconds for a slow, tiny stream of water to fall out of my body, I have to stand there that long. I can't increase the flow speed. It sucks.
Better than I have been across the last ~3 years. A few long strings of unemployment/only working part-time and some dating/girl-related disasters really did a number on me.
